RFK Jr. Running as independent

sorry. I have a PhD in microbiology and I subscribe to aspects of the vaccine "conspiracy". You can't have a system where drugs/procedures that costs billions and take 5-8 years to be approved to suddenly go "its all good" and go to production in 6 months with no long term studies and then force it on people and have them not be skeptical.

Lol.

Wins what? Anyone that wants to make medical decisions for their families based on rfk instead of their doc went that way long ago. He is not changing anyone's minds.

You are forgetting how many people didn't have privilege to practice personal medical decisions because of the vax mandates in some industries (medical profession, etc) and places like NYC (where ALL employers of ALL sizes had mandates and you could not literally work anywhere unless you were remote and your company had multiple out of state offices). Many cities had vaxxports and NYC had them for 5 year old+ kids. I absolutely support RFK and I can't wait for all the investigations of horrible abuses of power in our major cities and private hospitals and most colleges to deny people their basic rights over their bodies, to force medical interventions upon them they didn't need (many were Covid recovered by the time mandates hit) and their doctors didn't advise for their age, risk group, etc. Nobody is restricting your access to whatever vaccines and meds you want.

Blah, blah, blah. You wackos think you've discovered some big new conspiracy. I worked in public health right out of college in the mid-'90s and we had people back then protesting our efforts to boost infant immunization rates. You're just the same dillweeds with a new cause.

Well, congrats helping boost antivax movement. It's the likes of you in "public health", and other dillweeds who pushed and cheered for Covid vax mandates and vaxxports. You did it.

No, it's the likes of you who believe your ignorance is just as good as scientists' facts.

You are whiny about people smarter than you telling you to do something you don't understand. That's pathetic. Stop blaming other people for your own shortcomings.

Man, there sure are a TON of "PhD['s] in microbiology" that come out of the woodwork anytime there's any anti-vaccine discussion happening. I have met precisely one PhD in microbiology in real life - my college microbiology professor. Online I meet them left and right on anonymous forums. So weird.

"RFK Jr IS actually an anti-vaxxer though. He has made statements about the debunked "link" between the MMR vaccine and autism. Long before fears about the Covid vaccine dumped a bunch of new people into anti-vax spheres, RFK Jr was going strong on the vaccine misinformation."

It's so odd that he's against putting vaccines in his body when he had no such compunction against putting heroin in his body. Many of us remember his antics as a teen. He always got out of trouble. As an adult attorney he was arrested for taking heroin onto a commercial flight. He pulled his magic Kennedy strings and got off by going to an expensive rehab. He was allowed to keep his law license too. Would most of us be afforded that option? He is not of the common man.

The online ones are always very vaccine hostile and don’t understand anything about vaccines or the science behind them, either. It’s a real mystery!

Well we got waaay old senile Biden with his idiot VP Kamala who are potential disasters. Biden is too old, period. The guy can't even talk, ugh, he looks and sounds like 100. Kamala is a waste of space.

We got the convict nut job Trump who is an embarrassment to humanity.

I don't know, how bad can this guy be? . I mean he's worth at least listening to v rash judgement of a hard no. Cause it's a No for the Rep and Dem candidates for me and a lot of others!

Not sure I would not vote him based on being an anti vaxxer if he is. I mean as long as he's not taking away vax from anyone which I don't think he can - we do have a running democracy with Congress legislating, I'm not sure I really care and I'm not anti vax. What I do care about is who he may appoint to Supreme Court given abortion policy as Im heavy pro choice. I care about his stance on immigration, foreign policy and how he fares in the world as a leader. I care about his competence but I don't know that I need to agree on 100% of his beliefs and platforms. I know I'm not voting for crazy Trump and I know I can't vote for Biden/Kamala as I have zero trust in either to lead effectively moving forward. So I'm just saying, if it's just the 3 of them, maybe I'll actually hear Kennedy out.

He’s anti choice and has a whole lot of other problems. Lots of links in the old thread here: https://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/1124156.page

If you’re actually pro choice, you vote for Biden. Because it’s either Biden or Trump, and we saw where people’s purity votes got us in 2016.

Both Biden and Trump are obviously unfit to serve another 4 years in the most important job in the world; agree with you there. Kamala is inconsequential as VP but not an idiot. There are thousands of people in this country that would make more sense than Trump or Biden as president going forward but RFK Jr. isn't at the top of that list. It's past time for Americans to start taking their role in electing our leaders more seriously. We have become awful at it our nation is starting to show the effects from it.

Who would want to be POTUS in this day and age though. You're either a loon or power hungry or both. The criticism, hate, sacrifices and stomach for the office isn't appealing to most decent intelligent folks. I don't know where we are as a country really.

I don't see the US keeping up our position in the world but neither do I think many countries offer better, at least there's that.

I think we'll all be in a sort of dark ages/revolutionary time for a bit. I don't think that we are all doomed but I do think the reality is that it'll be a bit dark for awhile.

Loon and power hungry fairly describe Trump and Biden so you might be on to something.

Are Dems or Republicans more likely to vote for him? Any data?
