Good example. They need to be "harvarded" (does that mean cook in a lot of sugar and vinegar?) before they taste good. But then they are very good. |
You mean dirt? |
OMG. These are two of my favorites. One of my best memories from childhood was eating sweet jackfruit. As for okra -- just pan fried some tender okra the other day and ate the entire pan. |

Carrots are filler food. Cheap and orange and in everything, but would you miss them if they weren’t there?
Nope! You never miss carrots! |
I've tried so hard to like them. Even when they are sugared, the flavor is repulsive. |
I love the beets at Ethiopian places. |
I love carrots when they are seasoned and roasted. Even my picky eater loves a good couscous bowl with roasted carrots, onions and chickpeas. |
I love all the beets! Raw and pickled and golden! |
LOL. Beets are my husband's favorite vegetable. They do taste very good roasted. |
How do you sugar a beet? They already have a ton of sugar in them? All you need is to roast them to get the sugar taste. |
We call them dirtroots. |
The sand can be a b* to clean, but I love the flavour. Roasted leeks with butter mmmmm |

Kale.
Remember the "Big Kale Rush" of the early 2000's? It was like Dutch tulips in the 1600s. |
| I love turnips sliced and tossed in olive oil, garlic, s&p then grilled. |
