What’s with everything being cheeky these days

These spf 50 swimming shorts are available:
https://www.landsend.com/products/womens-chlorine-resistant-high-waisted-bike-swim-shorts-with-upf-50-sun-protection/id_352988

I find I just to shop on the web, instead of in stores, to find the non-cheeky things I need.

What’s the point of getting dressed at all? Why not wear your thong underwear to work because it makes your ass look great? No one should ever judge what anyone wears or doesn’t wear anywhere, ever!! There are no standards anymore!!!

(I bet at least half of you walking around with your actual asses hanging out and pretending people who think it’s inappropriate have no right to judge or even have an opinion are also in favor of HOAs policing what other people can do with their houses/yards, though 🙄)

Why do people get so worked up over what other people wear? If you don’t like something, don’t wear it, and ignore those who do.

Agreed, women’s swimwear bottoms
have always been unflattering. I recall a swimwear manufacturer with a campaign years “ditch the diaper” in favor of a ruched rear bathing suit bottom. Far more attractive than the saggy, baggy bikini bottoms of yesteryear! Good to see women sporting modern swimwear bottoms with a Rio, Brazilian or thong style bottoms.

What about shorts, like men wear? Wouldn’t that be the obvious solution to the diaper look? Why must women always be losing clothing in order to look better?

Cuz it’s cheaper to manufacture.

Using that logic, men’s trunks would resemble daisy dukes. They do not. Try again.

Yep. Fabric isn't driving cost. A sack with twice as much lycra would be inexpensive to manufacture. Where brands loose money is on returns. If everyone hates the way they look in the sack, that's the issue.

Well this is random.

I’m all for the butts but now that I have a young teen myself I am disappointed by the lack of full front coverage for the girls. Are all these young girls at the beach really waxing? I got her a bikini with boy shorts (not board shorts) after lots of looking from Amazon. Had to replace while here at the beach and not a single boy short cut is available so she is stuck in board shorts (her choice as she is very self conscious about any hair showing). Why don’t we just have options ladies?!?

Fashion IS for men, girls are just deluding themselves into thinking that they are sooo liberated by barely covering up; the men are very happy with this easy eye candy, except when it comes to their own daughters...

What are you talking about?

And those of you saying it's nbd- do you even know what you're talking about?! It's inappropriate to be wearing a thong at the pool. I'm seeing complete cellulite butts hanging out.

If you feel this way don't vacation in Europe.

Don’t get me wrong, I dread the thought of my husband or son wearing a thong at the pool or beach. I’m no prude, I have a few racy cut swim suits that I wear in the islands with hubby but wouldn’t wear in Ocean City.

Ahh, so you’re okay with butts out as long as it isn’t stateside.

My guess is PP feels that the standard of observers would be different. In OC it would be highly sexualized view of her body, probably some phone pics snapped, most decent resorts oversees you are just a woman in/out of a bathing suit and you may get noticed but not gawked at or cat called.

Yes. I feel so sorry for women athletes who have to play with their uniforms up their butt. It looks so uncomfortable.

Our team hated them so much we protested and won a uniform change. Honestly its like gross men chose the outfit that no woman on the team wanted to wear. They just wanted to watch our butts. Pigs.

I mean your suit doesn't fit, of course it's atrocious. I'm petite, many suits are simply too long in the crotch. If you want to confirm, just take the suit and fold out a tuck from leg hole to leg hole at the narrowest point of the crotch. I can often take out as much as two inches. Just safety pin that and try on the suit. You might be shocked at how complete the improvement is. As a desperate fix, I would just sew that tuck through all layers and never give it another thought, ugly but invisible. The proper alteration would be a lot more involved. I sew and have designed swimwear, but I'd rather start from scratch than spend the effort to actually alter the crotch of an existing suit, especially for myself.

I was in Italy this spring and I did not see that much flesh. Perhaps it’s different at the beach, but the beach is different.
