Because I'm passing an onramp and don't want to be plowed into by some moron "merging" onto the highway without bothering to check if there's already someone in the right lane.

| I drive a lot in VA. It is super rare for someone to drive at the speed limit in the left lane. What you typically have is someone driving 65-70 in the left lane and not yielding to a clueless Marylander who wants to go 80 unaware that it is criminal in VA |
