There are plenty of threads here calling for more gun laws and more enforcement of the existing gun laws. This thread is now saying it’s ok to ignore gun laws.

The judge’s concerns centered on how much immunity the deal gives the defendant. That’s per The NY Times. This is not a good development for the defendant despite the Orwellian takes of some partisans.

It’s pointless to argue about whether the charges or punishment in the original plea agreement were too much or too little. All that is irrelevant because now it has come to light that the investigation was continually blocked & limited.

This refers to a potential FARA filing. That doesn't make someone "an agent" as you are probably thinking about it.

Can anyone explain why Hunter is getting his gun charge dropped?

Today I learned that being an unregistered foreign agent and illegally having a gun is no big deal. Huh.

The DOJ and Biden's lawyers were working on the same side, to get Hunter out of trouble with a plea deal and no future prosecutions.
DOJ did not want to put this in writing.

Unfortunately the judge asked about it, and they ended up having to walk away from that plea deal and might not do a narrower plea deal on just tax and gun charges but for today Biden pled not guilty.

There is a FARA that requires registration. Violation of this act is what was charged in the case of a person claiming he had goods on Bidens.

No. The plea agreement was abnormal. Biden was going to plea and agree to punishment to charges that he could be charged again and again and again. Biden needs a new lawyer and the DOJ needs to be investigated. Seems like a political show trial.
