Don't need to. They revealed themselves. You're one of them. |
Same. The teachers at CCES are top notch — same with support staff and specialists. The principal is definitely a strong personality but she is communicative and clearly hires well. |
Lol what |
Nah, sorry. You’re the one who lives in delusion. |

Bannockburn (warm and welcoming with a tight knit community), Pyle (nurturing preparation for HS), and Whitman (rigorous with motivated kids and good teachers).
I see lots of trashing of MCPS and this cluster in particular on this board, but we’ve been very happy. |
Like I said, in your imaginary world. |
We have been mostly happy at Rock View but I'm very nervous about the number of teachers that aren't returning next year. I also don't like how they handle discipline but that's an MCPS issue. The lack of leadership is a real problem. |
Ok bud. |
| We liked Takoma Park Middle School and Blair (kids in the math magnet and CAP, which I'm sure makes a difference). |
Same!! |
| I think it is a tall order to find schools that people truly love in MCPS, because they aim to accommodate the average child. Those with kids who are above grade level or who have special needs, who are not in a program that aims to meet their needs, will likely have aspects they dislike. I also think you are askig for school boosters who may have their rose-colored glasses. Better is to ask about what aspects of specific schools people think are going well. |

I love Poolesville HS for my rising Junior. She is in the SMCS program so not regular MCPS programming but she loves it, is very happy, thrives, and the teachers love her and write me wonderful letters about how awesome my child is. It is rare to find a happy teen that likes her school.
I like Little Bennett ES for my youngest and as an ES for my eldest. The teachers were fantastic, and the leadership was stellar! The parents had a nice community too. There are now lots of changes so we will see how it perseveres through them. I did like Rocky Hill MS pre-redistricting. My daughter thrived there and I was very involved. Now, I do not want my child to go there and will likely do private for middle school and hope she gets into a magnet in Poolesville too. If not, I hope we get redistricted to Damascus HS as I do not like Clarksburg HS. |
In other words, this PP does not want their children to attend the same school as children from Fox Chapel ES and Daly ES in Germantown. |
What high school teacher does this? You are definitely lying. My child is also in the smcs program at PHS. |
| Ritchie Park is a hidden gem! Great community, amazing principal with transparent and timely communication, and strong and dedicated staff! High expectations for students to learn and grow not just in academics but socially too! Highly recommend! |
