It’s the other way around. ACPS, the school board, and city council (since they have an opinion about select “school” issues) don’t care about Alexandrians. Not all/most of us anyway.

I agree. The mayor said a few years ago that he cares more about future residents than current ones.

What does it say that Alexandrians keep electing the mayor and his cronies to the city council, the same types to the school board that allows central office at ACPS to fail year after year?

If we all assume ACPS will never improve, better to lean into it and cater to high income DINKs, milk 4-6 years out of them until they form families and have to enter the system. Not enough time either to figure out who isn’t doing their job and vote otherwise. “It was always like this”.

Well that works until it doesn’t, the market is finite, and relies upon the migration from DC (also a competitor).
