Your best “I can’t even” dinners

Spaghetti, frozen meatballs, spaghetti sauce

Franks n beans

Store bought pizza dough, sauce, shredded cheese

To the PP - I’m quoting myself here and my entire family of 5 (2 adults, 3 kids) is all normal weight fwiw.

I try to add a fruit / veggie with every dinner. My husband and I do the meals 50/50 split and frankly he cooks with less processed stuff than me and does salmon etc for his meals. Everyone is active and all of us exercise.

Tonight I’m making banana pancakes with Choc chips which I do every other week. We do breakfast for dinner once a week - one week eggs, and the next pancakes, & repeat.

I suspect some of these meals, if eaten regularly, would make me or my family fat. Some of the chicken and veggie options seemed okay - the pasta, spam, quesadilla stuff seemed too unhealthy to do weekly.

You are worried that a serving of pasta once a week will make your family fat??

Pasta with jarred sauce, add spinach to sauce bc “health”

Also girl you have a 1 month old. Don’t be too hard on yourself.

We are normal weight. We just eat less. I don't need to eat a giant plate of quesadillas. I can have one tortillas worth and raw veggies.

Jesus Christ

Please feed your children nutritious meals instead of restricting calories so they won’t gain weight.

Cold sesame noodles
Breakfast for dinner
Avocado toast
Soup and grilled cheese

Spinach and cheese quesadillas.

Rice made in the rice cooker with yogurt and Indian pickle. Delicious and not that bad for you if you use Greek yogurt and not too much rice.

I’m all for eating healthy but you sound eating disordered and your kids will end up messed up.

I cut two spaghetti squashes in half - roast - then add black beans and cheese/avocado. Those who are not satisfied are welcome to make an omlet or eat yogurt. This is usually our Thursday night meal after various practices and before various Zoom meetings.

Here's one idea:

-bring a large pot of water to a boil
-add pasta
-when pasta is 6 minutes from done, add broccoli florets
-when pasta is 4 minutes from done, add raw shrimp
-when pasta is done, drain water from pot and add jarred sauce (pesto, tomato, whatever)
-eat from bowls or directly from the pot if it has really been a day

My kid is 10. We usually have a sitter twice. Week and I prepare something for sitter to heat up. She really likes the Trader Joe’s parm chicken but last night I didn’t have the energy to make her lunch for today, let alone dinner. So tonight she’s having oatmeal and a banana for dinner.
I’m having a frozen dinner at work.
