Don’t elementary school kids wear jeans anymore

Girls are more prone to wearing jeans in HS but even then it's rare. They live in leggings and joggers.

DD hates jeans. Leggings, sweats and shorts are all more comfortable

Mine have a good mix between sweats, jeans and khakis......

Nope, none of my children own a pair of jeans.

My 5th grader DS wears either his soccer kit (due to practice after school twice per week) or athletic wear because he's playing soccer or something else during recess. During the winter, he'll wear these hybrid pants that are somewhere between khakis and athletic pants with a t-shirt and a flannel or a hoodie. He'll wear jeans or khakis if we are going out to dinner or in similar situations where athletic wear isn't appropriate.

My 2nd grader DD will occasionally wear jeans to school during the winter months, but she's also very athletic and likes to run around at recess. Jeans aren't conducive to that and are too hot in the fall and spring. She mostly prefers skirts or dresses over leggings or shorts.

Good luck in high school

I have no issues with athletic clothing. Neither of my kids wear jeans by choice; DS has a dark pair he wears to dress up when khakis or dress pants aren’t needed. DD is 10 and hasn’t owned a pair since I must have gotten her some at age 4.

Where I draw the line is at pajama pants. No no no. I bet half the kids wearing them literally rolled out of bed in their pajamas. The other half may not have but it’s still not appropriate for what is kids’ “professional” setting.

Mine are in high school.

Very bizarre.

These replies would be more helpful if they indicated the state and whether public or private. And what brand of jeans are some of you people buying that your kids feel pain in them??? LOL. Cheap no-name denim is thin, comfy and not stiff at all. Levi's be like wearing burlap.

Mine barely wear long pants, much less jeans.

Mine (8, 10) will wear jeans as a last resort when their other pants are all being washed. The 10 year old thinks jeans are for special occasions!

It's not the flex that you seem to think it is.

Flex? What are you talking about?

Heck I don’t even wear jeans very often. I buy more polished looking elastic or partial elastic women’s trousers.

This is hilarious!

So cute!

I work with second graders and lots o the boys like to wear athletic gloves. I don’t even know what sport… soccer? Football?

I mean, I don't wear hats in general, but I still own a couple of hats just in case. LOL. People in this thread be acting like it's a status symbol that jeans are banished from their home.

My 12 year old son still wears jeans regularly as well as cargo shorts. He doesn't care for athletic clothes at all.
