Parents kissing their children

Always kissed my kids on the lips. I hug them too. I think people who eschew this really have a hard time distinguishing between touch that is sexual and touch that is just love. Probably they think all touch is potentially sexual.

I grew up with European immigrant parents and extended family and we definitely kissed family on the lips for a long time. His family is great but I don’t know how affectionate they were.

Weird or no?

I was never kissed on lips by parents and we don't kiss children on the lips. I think you're weird for kissing children on lips.

I kiss my kids all the time, NEVER on the lips.

Plus the germaphobes. Seems like an exhausting way to live, but there you go

I thought Covid put a stop to the gratituitous fluid transfer. Now we only transfer fluids when it is deeply gratifying.

I agree with you, yet I also don’t kiss my kids on the lips. I kiss them on the cheek and head, and hug them a lot. Possibly too much.

We are super affectionate and a ton of kisses and hugs. Never on the lips for kids or anyone not my spouse. Mostly due to germs but just not done in my family.

Not healthy to transfer germs. You can instead kiss on head or forehead.

Very weird. Also unsanitary. Kids don’t naturally have the bacteria that causes cavities. They get it from their parents’ mouths.

Very sick to do this

My kids never have had a cavity and were kissed on the mouth. Stop fear-mongering.
