Omnibus Corrupt SCOTUS Thread

Thomas *did* report that gift.

So why did he report the $5,000 gift but not the billionaire Crow $150,000+ contributions at the same time?

Thomas hasn't answered that either.

Perhaps because that money was given directly to Thomas. The payment for tuition was directly to the school.
And, Thomas had no obligation to report it.

That too! IRS should be looking into what income the SCOTUS justices actually declared versus all of these revelations that have come to light...

I have no insight on Thomas's obligation to report. That doesn't change the fact that this is additional evidence that Thomas is corrupt.

Hey, great idea. So when I run for office, I'll buy a $3 million dollar house, a "friend" can write a check directly to the bank to pay the mortgage off and I have to declare *nothing*.

Seems totally legit /s

Uh the exact scenario you describe is tax fraud. It is reportable and there are fines and imprisonment for such violations. Certainly our Supreme Court Justices should be complying with the law, right?

This isn't as egregious as what we are seeing on the right, but it still speaks to having more accountability from our Justices.

Maybe we need to have 13 justices so if certain ones have to recuse, there are still 9 who can hear a case.

+1 This exactly is one of the reasons why the Trump Org CFO is in Rikers right now. The company paid tuition for his kids and grandkids directly as a perk but he never declared it as income.

It's almost like it would be wrong to stack the court. I mean, you should prob ask Obama and Merrick Garland their views on that.

Man if Thomas was a democrat the republicans would force an impeachment. It would be all they talk about. Too bad the “moderate” dems are okay with this. Hear they are blocking any investigation in to this.

Thomas could be working for FIFA he’s so corrupt.

The Dems don't have the power to do anything about it and the GOP is just fine. Get the Dems to 60 votes in the Senate and then we can talk.
