It doesn't matter if they don't get to vote .

And, there is now video out of one of them assaulting people in vehicles during BLM riots.
And, video of the other one (the one with natural hair) as a young clean shaven, short haired man speaking with no accent at Bowdoin. Compared with current video having him sounding like Al sharpton.

Interesting that they are heroes to so many.

And yet they are better men than the republicans that voted to expel them. Not sure what your point is. Who is the perfect hero that we should be supporting in this situation? You seem to think so highly of your own opinion so tell us what’s what.

Legum is a far left activist and is looking for clicks.

And, as for Justin Pearson.... He has changed incredibly in the last 7 years. Almost unrecognizable as the person he was.......

Why, because he let his hair grow longer and uses sunday preacher style oratory for floor speeches?

Yawn.

Are you kidding?
He looks and acts like a totally different person.

Will the real Justin Pearson please stand up.

Gee> I wonder what could have changed between this young man being 22 and now being 29? In his own growing up and finding himself and his comfort being more of who he may feel he is.

Seems he recognized that in Memphis, being a clean-cut, moderate politician doesn't get the attention he seeks. So, he morphed into a Malcolm X wannabe.
After all, Memphis is where Stephen "KFC" Cohen hails from.

I'd posit that the people trying to come up with complaints about him are likely far bigger frauds than he is.

Oh, come on. Anyone who observes the difference in appearance and demeanor in merely 7 years and doesn't think "WTH?" is denying reality.

Lots of people change their looks over the course of their lives. What a strange thing to obsess over. Do you feel threatened by his natural hair?

Oh, please. It is not just his looks. It is his whole personna.

Hey if you're so concerned about him being a "fraud", why don't you move to his district and vote him out? But something tells me you wouldn't be caught dead in the area he represents...

I am very happy with where I live ..... in Tennessee. We will just make sure there are enough representatives here to counteract the radical views of these few.
And, you are right... I would never move to Memphis. The only redeeming things about Memphis is Graceland and The Peabody. And, some of the BBQ restaurants.

Sure, the guy has a tiny condo and a very large house where his wife and live near where his kids go to school and we're supposed to believe that he lives in the tiny condo

Hasn’t he also been collecting per diem every legislative day for having to travel to and stay in Nashville away from “home”?

Once again, a claim from Legum. Unless other, more reputable sources pick up such a story, I simply don't believe it.

Now the Tennessee Tribune has picked up the story.
https://tntribune.com/where-does-the-tennessee-house-speaker-actually-live/

Let's see who else picks up the story and whether it continues to be investigated. Doubt it will ever make the MAGA news, regardless of what is found.

Note the byline:

By Judd Legum

The following article was originally published by Popular Information

And, the Tribune is not a hugely popular source in TN.

This story could be easily proven/disproven if only other journalists--or fellow lawmakers--wanted to pursue it. Heck, anybody with access to the internet could search for property records, tax records, school records. Discounting its sources doesn't make it implausible.

And, yet.... nobody has. There is a reason for that.
Bottom line - Judd Legum is not credible.

I just looked up one of the factoids cited and found it to be true. It took me less than two minutes. After dinner, I will look up some more. This is not about something that’s hard to prove like a he/said she said sex scandal. The assertions are easily provable. Let’s check back in a few days, shall we?

Does it state that anything was illegitimate?

Do you think that unpaid tax bills are "legitimate"? Here's the proof.

https://popular.info/p/update-tennessee-speaker-admits-his

I just tried the Cumberland Co. tax database search myself and it looks like Sexton is down to one unpaid tax bill. Just type in his name and you can check it yourself.

Anyone who voted for Donald J Trump and his ridiculous combover (he's bald, in case you didn't know) that he styles himself and shellacs into place with hairspray every day should STFU about other people's appearances.

FFS. This is not about physical appearance. It is about a total change in demeanor, personna, voice.... the whole package.
You just don't want to admit that over 7 years this guy totally changed to someone totally unrecognizable compared to 2016.

That video actually shows the truck attempting to hit a pedestrian in a crosswalk while someone in a hat put a cone in front of the truck trying to stop it. Then the truck escalated by driving dangerously close to pedestrians in a crosswalk and then hat guy threw the cone as a last ditch effort to stop the truck.

Who the hell cares? I have changes much since my early 20’s. Is that so hard to understand?

Again, look at Ted Cruz and nearly every other Republican who ran against Trump seven years ago. They are singing a very different tune now.

Sometimes it is.

NO comment about Pearson’s behavior? On video?

Conservative here. Someone can change in that timeframe. His behavior in 2020 is MUCH more concerning then his physical appearance.

Tucker Carlson said that Justin Pearson sounded like a sharecropper. He wanted to know why Justin was trying to sound like a civil rights leader from 50 years ago.

Not only is this incredibly racist (I know we are used to him being racist, but come on), clearly Tucker has never been to a black church during any decade, including this one!

What an absolute POS!

It’s irrelevant. He wasn’t expelled for that. He was elected by the voters in his district to represent them in the Tennessee legislature and that is what he is doing.
