Well I don’t live in San Francisco nor do I have carpet. We wear shoes inside |
And Covid |
| I wouldn't force someone to take off their shoes but they might never get invited again. I don't understand people who think it is weird to take off shoes in a home. Actually, I don't understand people who don't think it is disgusting to not take off shoes. Are you a barbarian? Have some respect for your own home and for other people's homes. |
That's a relief. Thanks for not inviting us! |
Well anyone who keeps saying nasty is 11 years old |
| This is a white American thing with squawking about taking shoes off |
Nope. White person here who lived in downtown Seattle for a blessed brief period. The sidewalks there are absolutely disgusting. I think that city relies only on rain to clean them, and with climate change the constant rain has just become a very mind-warping daily drizzle that just makes sure the crap on the sidewalk is moist enough to cling to the bottom of your shoes. I'm not a shoes-off-or-I-kick-you-out person, but I became one in Seattle. |
| I truly don't get it. For those of you who wear shoes in the house, how are you not uncomfortable? do you ever want to put your feet up on the couch? Do you enjoy having to professionally clean your carpet every month? |
Yes? My breasts don't stop needing support at 6 pm. |
DP. Well I live in NYC and it's the same thing - my block (an otherwise nice block on the UES) constantly smells like urine, dog and human. I'm not tracking that in. I moved from Bethesda and have definitely become more strict about it now; if I have to walk back into my apartment to grab something I forgot, I will still take my shoes off. The streets here are disgusting. |
Huh. I have a no germophobes policy at my house. |
Racist! Plenty of white people tale their shoes off. Check yourself |
It sounded that was what the pp said |
No, they stop wanting to be imprisoned. Let them fly, PP! Let them fly! |
It's funny, because even white people in Northern Europe find shoes in the home revolting. It is very rude to walk into a home with shoes on in many of those Scandinavian countries Americans are supposedly in love with as well as in Austria. Americans are just dirty people. |
