I live in Seattle. Everyone is shoes off. Everyone. Every party. I actually specifically tell people not to take their shoes off when I have parties and no one listens to me. It's so weird.
Seattle is the homeland for fussy, anxious people. I've been there once, and it was one time too many.
Seattle has a large Asian population where it is customary to remove shoes. So maybe you are just a racist?
Nope. White person here who lived in downtown Seattle for a blessed brief period. The sidewalks there are absolutely disgusting. I think that city relies only on rain to clean them, and with climate change the constant rain has just become a very mind-warping daily drizzle that just makes sure the crap on the sidewalk is moist enough to cling to the bottom of your shoes. I'm not a shoes-off-or-I-kick-you-out person, but I became one in Seattle.
