Walls racist incident

Someone opened up a discussion on a board where it’s obvious that many people do not have kids at Walls and don’t know what happened. Why discuss if you’re not actually going to discuss?

Your DD joined a witch hunt mob for her own self aggrandizement - thereby making it much harder to actually handle these incidents in an age-appropriate and productive way. Also there’s no evidence that the kids refused to delete the Tiktok.

As expected..So a peaceful walkout is a witch hunt according to "you people". I guess is like Kyle Rittenhouse was taking a Sunday stroll. I'd love to meet in person to handle this in much more adult and age-appropriate fashion. Pick the time and place....

That's DCUM's answer to everything BUT never pursues anything. No reason to involve a lawyer. No identities have been released and no privacy laws broken. The punishment is what it is and if you wanna fight, go for it. I doubt that a family wants to go thru the "discovery" process? That alone could be devastating-all media posts are fair game! Just apologize, learn, and listen to others.

I mean yes, “apologize, listen and learn” is the ideal result. But you can’t get there when extreme threats are on the table - like expulsion and loss of college opportunities, and open rumors about “racist” kids. If you want the defense dialed down then the consequences have to be dialed down as well.

Exactly this - if the students will be "cancelled" (expulsion, college offers rescinded, etc.) then the defense needs to be strong, but if the students will be "disciplined" along the lines of having to write a paper about why the lyrics are offensive, make a public apology and LEARN from their stupidity, THEN there won't be such a push-back.

When kids are doing walkouts, letters going out to all parents, rumors spread online- then yes, people discussing it should have to provide more facts.

Ideally what would happen is that Walls admins would resolve in a fair way, but that’s not going to happen.

If the accusation is proven to be true, I hope the parents who enable/defend this behavior are bankrupted in the process. That’s after their little Klan Kids are booted from Walls.
