Students did a in-school 'walk out' today to speak out about the countless racist social media posts that have happened over the years and Admin sweeps under the rug. The latest one involved the baseball team, to my understanding. WTH is going on? |
Ask your kid, mine told me what it was about. She also told me that members of the student body were going to talk to admin yesterday (maybe today.) |
My DC knew about it last week. I’m appalled that admin ignores these and doesn’t share out general incident letters out to families. Let it be some other kind of hate incident and there’s a much more vocal response. So telling by the lack of LSAT/HSA response in past incidents. Guess POC don’t fit into their agenda. |
What kind of posts? I find this hard to believe. |
I don't. Teenage boys are being groomed and radicalized by far-right figures on Youtube, podcasts, social media, and gaming communities. They normalize racist and misogynist ideologies through "edgy humor." This is a multi-billion dollar effort to propagandize minors. |
I know there are privacy laws that certain things can't be communicated. But some communication should have come from the administration. Maybe something was sent to the affected parties? Regardless, these students have seen and gone thru a lot. The problem won't simply go away if you close your eyes. This seems to have been brewing for a while and now it's boiling over. Walls pushes self-advocacy in every breath. Well this is "real" self-advocacy. Kudos to the young adults for standing up. I'm sure the LSAT meeting will be a lot of fun.... |
Just saw the email. Raise your kids better, folks! |
What happened??? |
What happened? |
2 white kids on the baseball team took a consentual video of a black student, then posted the video online but edited it with a racist song about slavery. Disgusting. |
Ha... That's the real problem. Kids learn most things at home. |
Did you see the video |
The song they used is a very popular TikTok song. It is unlikely the kids were thinking about the meaning of the song or making the connection to slavery. |
People say that, but it's not true beyond the early years. |
Well, if it's on TikTok, it must be okay. ![]() |
