Agree that those are poorly done sleeves. A good sleeve has one anchor piece that is visible and clear from 15 feet away and then details filled in around it. Too many people throw a grocery list of things they want in their sleeves: stopwatch, tiger, lady eyes, etc. And it becomes a muddle mess. But a good sleeve is generally just one subject matter |
Agree with attention grab. It's a cheesey way for a strange male to ask a trampy woman to expose herself. Maybe it leads to hookups? It also reveals people's insanity like when they get a life sized tattoo of Miley Cyrus all over their body in the hopes Miley Cyrus will love them (when really they seem like a psycho stalker). It also reveals stupidity and self destructive tendencies when they cover their entire face or neck to the point they can never be employed. Usually one tattoo leads to another and then they've just effed themselves up or can only hang out with other similar effed people. |
Oh, come on. You can call Lenny Kravitz trashy all you want, but he’s beautiful, famous, and could buy you 100 times over. I’m sure he’s weeping into his Frette pillowcases over you thinking his tats are trashy. |
Even when they look good, when you see an older person whose skin is snagging with tattoos….gross. |
Trash unless they are on drag queens - then it is ok because they are just expressing themselves and their sexuality. |
There is nothing I'd want permanently on my body, but if there has to be one, I can deal with something small.
Otherwise I think it's kinda ugly. I also think about how ugly it would be when the skin wrinkles up. |
I think: WHY? |
people are free to do whatever they want and what makes them happy.
My opinion since you asked though - unequivocally trashy |
Depends on the tattoo and the person. Like any piece of clothing or accessory, it can make you look stupid or make you look hot (IMO, of course. You’re free to have your own). If you look like a centerfold but have a horribly done Kermit the Frog on your chest, there’s no saving that. |
Trash.
You're supposed to earn your scars, not buy them. |
There are a few tattoos I've seen that I really like. But most I don't like. The ones I like most can be hidden easily and have a meaning to that person. |
Please don't drag that monstrosity of a thread into this one. |
I have seen some incredibly beautiful tattoos. I really love those. But equally I've seen the "bad" portraits or the tattoos that are just too dark to make out what is going on and those are a blight.
Like everything its' on a case by case basis. I do remember sitting with my preschoolers in a music school waiting room and one kid was there with her uncle who had "F**k off" tattooed across his neck. I was glad my kids weren't able to read just yet. |
Anyone can do whatever they like. But if you are asking: Depends on the number, size, location, subject matter. The larger the number, the larger the size, the more visible while wearing regular clothes like jeans/skirts/tshirts, the more vulgar/offensive, the less attractive they are. Also, one can be enough to be unattractive - if it is very large or even a small one on someone’s face or one single small one that is vulgar/offensive. YMMV.

I don't have any, but could not care less if anyone else does.
Unless they are on the face. That I just can't get over. |
