Oh please. Arlington is not just your lily white north Arlington neighborhood. It is a lot more diverse than that and there has always been crime. Just stay in your little bubble and you'll be fine.

Wakefield is almost Baileys Crossroads, so about as south as Arlington gets.

I am stepping in to confirm it was 2 separate kids led out of school. One was victim of threat. According to kids, the other one was friend of victim who goes to Wakefield. Somehow he was searched and had a gun on him. Maybe brought to defend his friend?

Please remember that although this person is 18, he is a Senior in APS. He’s a student who used to go to Wakefield. He’s a product of APS. calling him a man… is legally true but not the whole picture.

Wait a minute. A student at Wakefield was removed for having a GUN AT SCHOOL on Thursday. Has this been communicated to the community?! They told us that the non-student could not be proven to have a gun. They didn’t tell us that another student did. What is happening with the judgment of APS leadership? Shouldn’t the community know about that? Wow.

They didn’t announce that any drugs were found at his house when he was arrested. I imagine they would’ve found drugs at this house if he was a dealer. And police said his trespassing was related to a dispute with a student that had been ongoing for awhile

Set an initial reports say that this is potentially related to the Bob and Edith shooting? I found that part so weird.

The first poster was referring to a gun found on a friend of the intended victim, not the suspect. That said I find it hard to believe the police wouldn’t have announced that another student was found with a gun. Even if a juvenile. They would’ve announced it but not named the suspect

Also someone asked on the ACPD FB announcement about other kids in cuffs and this is what they responded:

“ During the course of police investigations, additional individuals may be detained or questioned as police gather information. The arrest details in this investigation are available in our Newsroom”

The only arrest was the suspect. If another kid was found with a gun he would’ve been arrested. So it’s all unsubstantiated gossip

There have been a spate of shootings recently, going back to some incident in a hotel, a shooting in Green Valley, the Bob and Edith’s and then a drive-by at Caspi lounge on Columbia Pike. I think they’re trying to determine if they’re all linked in some way.

So more stuff happening tonight. Tonight there were social media posts that Monday Wakefield would look like movie set because gang surrounding the 18 year old jailed last week was coming. Went on to say 2 groups were going to have gun fight at school. After DC saw these posts kids were saying “stay safe” and planning to skip. Word got to authorities and principal sent message about 11 pm acknowledging social media posts.

Things are so messed up. Don’t know how school is going to put it all back together.
