Start listening around 12:51. I'm still listening through it.

To whoever posted this, thank you so much!!!

Per scanner, kids are still sheltering in place for now. Building is secure. I think they basically are just doing the active investigation now and focusing on that vs. dismissal. Kids can go to bathroom escorted with teacher, etc.

I posted it
but thanks really go to the first person who posted it in this thread regarding alexandria city schools
I remembered it and went to the site today and was able to find a page for Arlington co.
it is so helpful and much more info than we would ever get from the school

Good point! I will bookmark it and hope I never need it again. Regular dismissal time. I can't wait to see my kid!

They latest update is they ensured the suspect is not in the school.

Do they know where the suspect is located?

Received a social media photo from someone at Wakefield of an individual being taken away in handcuffs

ACPD just tweeted with NO reference to any arrests. "intestivaion determined the trespasser is not currently on school property"

These poor students. What a week. No wonder kids are anxious and stressed. How can they be expected to focus on learning?

ArlNow also references: "During the search, a student who was not considered a suspect was escorted out of the school by police, ARLnow hears."

Perhaps for protection. This may have been the student who received the threatening texts.

Oh no to the lockdown.

Btw there is nothing going on around the career center (someone mentioned it?) it’s totally quiet here.

Yes, the police on the scanner said they were escorting the victim out of the school. This was an hour before releasing others.

Re Langston--The police discussed whether to lock down this school. I googled and it looks like it's a nearby elem school. Other voice on the scanner said they didn't think there was a threat for the elem school. No need to lock it down. They must know that suspect is going after victim at Wakefield--not just any random person anywhere.

The elementary school that they were referring to is Claremont - which is across the street from Wakefield and was in "secure the building" mode.

Oh please. No, they shouldn't.

Too bad buddy, they are closed tomorrow. Good thing you dont make the decisions. Mental health and physical safety come first.

No, on the scanner they made a reference to "Langston" but did not say that it was the school per se.

Langston is the alternative high school up on Langston Boulevard. I wonder if the dispute was with a student from there.

Yes. It was the school. That was clear.

Was there actually ever anyone in the school? Did they ever catch the person they were looking for?
