Is there a citation for that claim? |
The CDC is complicit when you die from an overdose of meds, the wrong meds, or a mistaken surgical procedure, and hospital staff is fraudulently allowed to say you died from whatever you came for — instead of their preventable medical error. This is essentially fraud. |
I work in health care and agree there are things that are classified as "errors" all the time but 99% time there is no real harm done to the patient. |
+1….what would you sue for? |
Third leading cause of death is absolutely real harm. |

OP they saved your dad what more do you want? Its like you're directing your anger about his illness towards the medical profession in general I know people do this, but it is completely inappropriate. |
Sister had surgery at 8am. Not easy, but done by 10am. She was in recovery but never really woke up. Doctors checked at 7pm when husband expressed concern. They checked and her oxygen was at 45%. Nurse called and the doctor gave her narcan. She woke up, but it was scary! |
I’m so sorry about your dad. |
How many people die every year now because of hospital errors? |
OP, cutting to the chase here but see what the VS were during that timeline. Based on that you can likely see the timeline of why they made the adjustment/gave narcan.
-nurse here and NBD UNLESS someone was not noticing that they should have held a narc or given narcan sooner. |
You really need someone next to you 24/7 if you’re in the hospital to see what’s they’re doing. |
they should have told you about the narcan, but it isn't necessarily a mistake. respiratory depression is a known side effect of opioids. in an older patient who had anesthesia and then pain medication, it wouldn't be uncommon to see some slowed respirations. there's no harm in giving narcan, so if someone is worried, it's better to give then not. |
This is the usual attitude towards women who opt for a hospital birth. “Stop complaining about the way we treated you! You got a (mostly) healthy baby, didn’t you?!?!?” It’s sickening. |
Many people who take pain meds have their own Narcan to administer themselves. |
