If you only read one dystopian novel where Elvis’s stillborn twin brother is alive and living the Twin Towers that suddenly reappeared in the Badlands of South Dakota, then make it Shadowbahn by Steve Erickson.

There's one scene late in the book that has stuck with me for years since reading this book. It's haunting and sad and justified (?? maybe????????) and just so damn good.

This was the first book I read in 2020 and I blame myself for the Pandemic.

I also read it for the first time in late 19, early 20 and found it to make the whole pandemic onslaught extra surreal

Same here. It made the beginning of Covid even more of a WTF is happening moment.

I'm enjoying The Vampire Royals by Leigh Walker. It's dystopian-esc, but with vampires lol.

Thanks for the suggestions! 13yo loved station 11 but is upset it ends on a cliffhanger with no sequel. Really wishing there was a station 22 now LOL

I would recommend A Deadly Education series for her.
