The Road by Cormac McCarthy
Station 22 by Emily St John Mandel

I could go on...

Station 11, not 22

Yeah that's called a typo. I'm so glad you raised it as an issue though, shows what a deep thinker you are and what you have to contribute.

I'm not the PP who corrected the title but IMO the correction is legit. There was not attitude in that post and you totally overreacted.

Correcting any OBVIOUS typo is anal.

Agree. But not in the title.

I mean, The Stand is probably the best of the post-apocalypse genre.

Original corrector here - no snark was intended. Just thought I was being helpful in case someone was Googling the title without adding the author’s name.

+1

I don’t normally read Stephen King, but I read this at someone’s insistence that it was a great book, and they were right.

NP. It is only obvious to people who have read the book. If you are recommending a book to someone who hasn't read it, it's an important detail.

Chill out.

I third this rec.

Also liked Station 11.

If you want to read one that is really out there, read The Gone Away World by Nick Harkaway.

Radio Silence by Alyssa Cole
Deal with the Devil by Kit Rocha
Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews- it has magic and shifters but is pretty post-apocalyptic.

Kit Rocha has another series that starts with Beyond Shame. It’s great, but be aware it is very steamy.

I really enjoyed the Red Rising series.

I found the correction very helpful as I was about to look up the wrong title.

I teach teenagers and the Scythe trilogy is SO GOOD. Like even adults enjoy it.

The Stand, Parable of the Sower, Severance, Station 11 are all good suggestions.
