Ugh, these 4.5 year olds snowplowing down steep slopes so that parents can say their kids “did a black diamond” are a dime a dozen.

My husband and I took our 9 month old sledding and pushed her down this teeny tiny hill and my heart was still in my throat.

That's fine. We're Austrian (here temporarily). Both of my sons were on skis by 2, and very capable skiers by 4-5. But it's not uncommon when you live in the mountains and around ski areas. They still required a lot of supervision though, since their judgement was not on par with their ski skills.
