Snow tubing at 10 months

You do. And that's a pretty risky activity for an adult, let alone a baby that will go flying or be crushed if you crash.

You suck as a parent get help

This is a hard no.

What in the world?

My kids are grown I raised six very active kids no way, absolutely not

Get help you aren't funny.

Also don’t hold your 10 month old on your lap going down a slide. Just adding this because some people are not aware it’s dangerous

All I can picture are head, neck and brain injuries. Please don't.

Glad you were able to get a reality check here and are taking it on board. Have you read/heard how dangerous it is to go down a playground slide with a young child? Imagine that x1000.

Just a friendly reminder that you should also avoid going down slides with the baby in your lap. Water or otherwise. You sound a like a fun parent, so this will be tempting, but kids’ legs can get caught between the outside of your leg and the slide, causing a fracture. This is one of those things parents would never suspect could happen, but does.

Oops, didn’t see this before I posted, yes absolutely

Sure, why not. Bet the baby is ready to go skiiing by itself too. Of course on the bunny slope.

Thank you to the two posters to mentioned this -- I had no idea! I don't generally do it but I'd never realized it was dangerous.

No need to be so mean to the OP. Someone who’s never been tubing might not realize how long and steep the hills are and how fast the tubes go, or that some hills are designed with jumps to catch air. I can see imagining a gentle slope in a big comfy tube being fine to hold an older infant in your lap, but it’s not like that at all.

Oh boy. You are the one who needs help.

op I think posters are being a tad harsh here, though I agree I wouldn't take my 10 month old tubing though on one of those controlled hills at the resorts the risk is probably not as high as everyone is making it out to be. THey are kind of slow, crashes don't happen often because you have your own lane and they'd be on your lap. I definitely saw very small kids on laps at the sledding hill in canaan valley which is huge and fast. So, I'm just saying you're not that crazy as dcum is making it out. That being said you'll need to wait for most of these adventures! My 3 year old almost 4 year old did great learning to ski last year (connected to a harness and us) and this year at almost 5 I'm pretty sure he'll be off and pretty independent. But that's the earliest unless you live out west and are out alll the time.

You can enjoy some sledding with a 1 year old on small hills around here if it snows!

The main risk is from op overturning and accidentally tumbling onto her own child, not from crashing into another tube! I agree that the posters calling names and telling her she is a horrible parent are awful, but it absolutely is incredibly risky and the people who are nicely trying to explain that are spot on.

He is and was big for his age but still struggled a bit with the tube and with manuevering on the escalator thing that takes you up the hill.

I am imagining OP will carry the tube up the hill.

You are excited to do fun things with your kid. I get it. But trust me when I tell you this type of thing is WAY MORE FUN with a 7 or 8 year old than an infant or toddler.

Stick to things like the tupperware cabinet while that will entertain them .
