Two ideas:
1. When she says something, appeal to her sense of family. “I know how important family is to you. Family is important to me too. I would never forgive myself if I didn’t take time to see Aunt Jane when she was in town” 2. Offer special time with her. “We’re so glad you’re here so let’s carve out some one on one time together when I get back.” |
I would only consider the first response. The second is catering to bratty behavior and MIL should not be rewarded with special attention for this behavior. |
