Restaurant denies Christian group service over its anti-abortion and LGBTQ stances

I don’t want to serve people who advocate the killing of in utero children but that’s just me.

So you support a restaurant's right to refuse service to people whose morals are repugnant to them? And you approve of the restaurant in this case. Awesome.

The restaurant didn’t refuse them based on their religious beliefs. This is a group who raises money to change legislation which makes women and LGBTQ folks inferior with fewer rights than white Christian straight males. That is unconstitutional so this group is directly harming the restaurants employees. Sounds like they made the right choice to me.

As far as a baker or website director refusing to serve someone on the basis of sexual orientation, that is discrimination. If you don’t want to serve people because it’s against your religion then I think you need to run a “Christian” business and make it clear you aren’t for general consumption. I would never willingly give one dollar of my money to a company like that so I need to know in advance that they hate people based on race, religion or gender etc. This country is headed in the wrong direction.

Can you imagine being denied service like this? Who else has ever been treated this badly?

Why yes, I can! Have you really never heard about legally racially segregated schools, restaurants, hotels, and public transportation?
Hint: Some of us still alive — and even still alive and kicking, and going to work every day remember these things quite well.

So are we now at the point where Republicans can discriminate against Democrats and Democrats discriminate against Republicans? This is insanity.

they clearly do when hiring to run their office.

You must not be familiar with abortion.

So just to be clear, for it is ok for people to deny Christians service than is it ok to deny liberal Jews service whose views may be offensive to my Christian employees?

Yes I am. They don’t kill children. It’s no different than a miscarriage.

Of course not. It is just a clump of cells . . . you know, like all humans.

Can restaurants refuse service to conservative Christians AND graphic designers refuse to make websites for gay couples?

I say no. Neither should be allowed. I think both examples set awful precedents.

I don't want to live in a country where when I enter. store or a restaurant people can refuse me service b/c my child is trans or I am Jewish.

That means I have to be willing to serve/accommodate people with whom I disagree.

It's being part of a multicultural pluralistic society.

I'm fine with people who have Nazi or Nazi adjacent views being refused service

Rockland farm winery asked a white supremacy group to leave when they realized they were there to have a meet up.

If it’s a person why don’t we have funerals for miscarriages?

So the willful killing of something with it’s own distinct DNA, a heartbeat, the ability to feel pain is no different than a miscarriage? Wow. I bet you tell people to follow the science on climate change . . .

I don't have to hand you your perfectly legal, doctor prescribed birth control
I don't have to bake your cake
I don't have to create your web site
I don't have to let you eat in my restaurant

See how that works?

Political affiliation is not a protected class.

This, yes. Personally, I think restaurants should have to serve people (unless they being specifically abusive to the actual humans there right at that time), businesses (even religious ones) should have to provide comprehensive health coverage, pharmacists should have to provide medications, city hall employees should have to provide marriage licenses, etc. etc.

But since the courts have ruled that actually no, businesses don't have to serve you if they don't like something about you, this business is totally justified.
