Restaurant denies Christian group service over its anti-abortion and LGBTQ stances

Anonymous
I support this restaurant and it’s owner for putting the well-being of their employees first.

The owner made the right decision…and I do not give a F if it inconvenienced this hateful group of people and their ugly beliefs.

“I can use my religion to discriminate against and refuse service to others. You can’t use my religious views to discriminate against me.”

Disgusting

Can restaurants refuse service to conservative Christians AND graphic designers refuse to make websites for gay couples?

I say no. Neither should be allowed. I think both examples set awful precedents.

I don't want to live in a country where when I enter. store or a restaurant people can refuse me service b/c my child is trans or I am Jewish.

That means I have to be willing to serve/accommodate people with whom I disagree.

It's being part of a multicultural pluralistic society.

I'm fine with people who have Nazi or Nazi adjacent views being refused service

I agree with the original PP of this thread. I'm black and would rather a society where I am forced to serve a racist vs the other option of people choosing who they want to serve. I think I'd rather a society of inclusiveness vs intolerance.

The day before the 1/6 protest/riot/insurrection, a hotel in downtown DC popular with that faction chose to cancel all reservations and not accept any guests that night. Under DC human rights law, they can't discriminate who they accept as a guest based on political affiliation.

Sounds like you really hate people who hate...

Being LGBTQ isn’t a protected class either.

Can you imagine being denied service like this? Who else has ever been treated this badly?

A gay couple trying to get a cake made for the wedding were treated that bag and the SCOTUS said it's legal.

The restaurant didn't discriminate based on political affiliation, they discriminated based on one particular political views. Not the same thing at all.

Identical situations. I'm a Christian (who support gay marriage) and think both are wrong. Not baking that cake was like not serving black people back in the day.

100%!

+200, another Christian here who thinks the wedding cake and this are both bad. But, this is a troll post, by not very good troll at that.

So you would force an individual to work for someone just because they wanted to hire them? Sorry but, people are allowed to turn down work for any reason.

Good. It works both ways now, since anti-everything Christians want private businesses to have these rights.

I don't like it OP, but this is where "conscientious objector" culture is getting us.
I don't have to hand you your perfectly legal, doctor prescribed birth control
I don't have to bake your cake
I don't have to create your web site
I don't have to let you eat in my restaurant

See how that works?

Political affiliation is not a protected class.
