+1

You two obviously aren't from LoCo.

Seriously. The people who yell at the school board meetings are MAGA but half the time they don't live in the county and they certainly don't represent most Loudoun voters. It is a loud minority of crazies.

They are ignorant, uneducated, racist as hell and most are not from Loudoun or don't have kids in LCPS.

And it's lovely how you all have decided that not wanting your daughter unsupervised in a bathroom with a known rapist is MAGA.

NP (and Loudoun resident). No. That isn't MAGA. Trying to turn this into an anti-trans case most certainly is, though. And you can't tell me that some of the MAGA types didn't do exactly that when they heard the rapist was wearing a skirt.
LCPS is certainly at fault here. As is LCSO. Where's the outrage against the sheriff's office?

It scares me no end that the rapist was unaccounted for by either school admin or the SRO after the assault. How can I trust the response of either party to similar events in the future?

PP here. Exactly.

Have we heard the end of this? Will there be accountability for LCSO?

Of course not. The sheriff is a Republican.

You say this like the the LCSB has two brain cells to run together to come up with a plan. They really don't. People are giving everyone involved way too much credit re: conspiracies between the parties.

I think people also forget that Eric Williams left in December of 2020. The most chaotic and unknown school year of all time. The board was panicked. They had no superintendent to manage distance learning, phasing in hybrid, a return to learn plan, vaccination. They hired someone who was immediately available and knew our system and to Ziegler’s credit, whatever came after, he handled those issues very well. He had a vaccination pod up and running within 3 weeks and all staff fully vaccinated by early February. Kids were back in school hybrid and he ramped that up to all 4 days by the end of the year, got a distance learning academy set up for parents who wanted kids to stay online in 2021, and had everyone back in all 5 days last school year. He does deserve credit for that because I saw how other districts managed things that year and LCPS was the most efficient at getting kids back in as many days as possible as quickly as possible.
