jeeze, I wish I could get a 2.5 year paid vacation for screwing up at my job.

How he’s got good savings because he’s basically unemployable now. It’s all googlable.

Of course he is employable. He is an excellent superintendent.

No, he really is not “an excellent superintendent.”

In fact, he was so bad, they had to take the extraordinary measure of firing him.

Your claim of his excellence is frankly absurd and irreconcilable with the established facts.

And yet they didn’t have enough to justify a termination for cause, so now Ziegler gets a year’s paid vacation. Ziegler was a scapegoat so no one would look too critically at the board.

The board was explicitly exonerated from responsibility by the report

Yes, very conveniently so. That’s why you get rid of Ziegler without cause, so he has an incentive not to publicly share the truth of your role in the matter.

So now the board was in cahoots with the grand jury? Will you listen to yourself? You are insane.

The AG who conducted the grand jury was tasked with investigating a particular scenario. Everyone knew in advance what the outcome was supposed to be.

The grand jury that reported they thought the board was in cahoots with the LCPS counsel, who they would have indicted for witness tampering except there was no Virginia law against witness tampering.

Wait. Lawyer check. There is NO law against witness tampering in VA? I find that difficult to believe.

Haven't read the full thread, but isn't there a significant difference in what LCPS might pay Ziegler if he was terminated without cause as opposed to terminated for cause (which would now seem appropriate in light of the indictment)? Are Loudoun taxpayers going to make sure LCPS doesn't pay Ziegler money that he may not be owed?

That's what the grand jury report says. They said there was a federal law but nothing in Virginia. The report said nothing to fit the particular fact pattern, but I think that was referring to obstruction of justice rather than witness tampering. The report makes it clear they wanted to indict division counsel.

Am curious about this as well.

Seriously. The people who yell at the school board meetings are MAGA but half the time they don't live in the county and they certainly don't represent most Loudoun voters. It is a loud minority of crazies.

No he actually isn’t. When you are in charge, the buck stops with you. It was his responsibility to make sure that the assailant was sufficiently supervised at both schools and that both principals were made aware of this. If he doesn’t want to be help responsible, then he shouldn’t be in charge. That IS the job.

I’d actually say that he also had an obligation to deal with the father of the assaulted student. He should have stepped in and handled that with the school board instead of letting that poor family be put through anything more. Their daughter was a victim. The school board can’t be held responsible for the initial assault but it did happen at school and the family deserved to be treated with care and compassion and they were not. The stuff that happened with the board and the arrest at the board meeting were just absolutely terrible when you remember that for that dad, it started with his daughter getting assaulted st school. Politics don’t have to come into it. The family should have been handled with care and they were not by the school system, the Superintendent or the board.

If we are cleaning house, let's not forget the Commonwealth's Attorney. Biberag is something else as well.

“Biberag,” that’s funny!

Right wing freaks. You won't be happy until you destroy the school system and everyone is attending that freak show church in Leesburg.

As an outsider, I agree. I guess those of you who live in Loudon County see this as a Younkin witch hunt, but from the outside looking in, I'm more offended and disturbed by how leadership allowed the father of the victim to become the poster child for anti-trans hate when he was dealing with a difficult situation with little support or transparency.

I probably would have lost my mind too, if someone lied about my daugther's assault during a publci forum.

They are ignorant, uneducated, racist as hell and most are not from Loudoun or don't have kids in LCPS.

And it's lovely how you all have decided that not wanting your daughter unsupervised in a bathroom with a known rapist is MAGA.

Zeigler is a good guy, but he was completely unprepared to be the superintendent. Shame on the board for hiring someone without the requisite experience. They wanted someone they could control and they go what they asked for
