Jif or skippy PB (which I eat at least once a week)
Ring dings (but they also make me sad because they were so much better 40 years ago)
Snickers
Doritos of any flavor
Snyders mustard pretzels—will eat the whole bag and like the yellow powder
Marshmallow fluff and especially a fluffernutter on white bread
I will also eat jam just by the spoonful like Joey on Friends but it’s fancy organic jam so I don’t know if it counts for this thread

For the spam lover, have you tried lomo MoCo with spam? It’s so good. They serve it in most Hawaiian diners.

For oP, I used to love Coke so much my mouth would water when I heard a can pop. I don’t drink it much anymore but still crave it with certain things like Mexican food. I guess maybe my parents always let me get a Coke when we went out to eat, and we usually went to Mexican restaurants?

Forget hair of the dog, best hangover food is tacos and an icy Coke, but only if the carbonation is strong and the syrup or whatever is right. A delicate balance.

PP here and I forgot to list Pork Roll! (Yes I grew up in NJ)

I love it sliced thin and fried on a toasted English muffin with spicy mustard and sometimes, cheese.

Ha! Don’t forget the Frito’s bean dip, which i haven’t had in about 30 years, but feel like I could rekindle our romance.

Bean dip is still out there and as good as ever. It's actually not bad for you. I get a few cans every year.

The Christmas Tree Little Debbies. and I can't be the only one. They are IMPOSSIBLE to find even in small town North Carolina (hint: I tried at many Walmarts)

Fried bologna sandwich with cheap white bread and yellow mustard. I grew up poor. This was actually a treat because the bologna was $2.99/pack of 10 slices whereas the generic chicken hotdogs were $1.99/10. My mom almost always bought the hotdogs.

Ritz crackers with marshmallow fluff

Instant mashed potatoes

French bread pizza from the freezer section

Angel food cake made from a box mix with vanilla frosting from a can

I guess this depends on your ages, but for those who experienced the original version of these treats don’t you notice how awful they taste in comparison? Especially anything hostess. Devil dogs, ring dings, and cupcakes with the white squiggly line were rich, real chocolate, deliciousness. I think Oreos are somewhat true to the original although the white stuff isn’t the same. Some of you may know Tate’s bakery since they’ve made it to the shelves of regional markets (only the cookies). I’m lucky to be near a brick and mortar Tate’s and they make the original Hostess cupcakes. They’re incredible. I add them to holiday dessert spreads for nostalgia.

To the pp that made me lol who indulges in “mini hotdogs wrapped in biscuits”… they’re called cocktail franks. Get the frozen kosher brand, they’re spot on original.

I was just going to say that. Most of this stuff isn’t nearly as good as it was when we were kids. I used to eat Pepperidge Farm cookies by the truckload, but now they don’t even make many of the cookies I grew up eating because the ingredients are too expensive. Same with Breyers ice cream that tastes disgusting now. It’s so sad.
