I do like to stop at Starbucks for short coffees or plain espresso macchiatos, those madeleines cookies in the package by the register (a light snack), and free large ice waters. And they generally have clean restrooms if needed.

I can’t imagine why you’d need a bathroom; you seem very tightly corked

Just because your junk food, sorry, “light snack” has a French name doesn’t make it not junk food LOL

They are in fact light and airy. And it’s junk food, of course, but is made with real butter and sugar, not chemical oils and HFCS like most of the stuff in this thread.

Gross. How do you stomach all that sugar?

Madeleines just suck. Why are they a thing?

Chex mix or cheddar & sour cream ruffles. Kids like candy so I’m usually happy to share with them. The only candy dh likes is peanut M&Ms.
I’ve never had combos, maybe I’ll try them next time.
The only fast food I actually get excited about is In n Out. Wish they existed in the east!

Drinking your calories is not as satisfying as grazing/pacing yourself with combos( as mentioned upthread) or with other nibbly junk food

Are we talking about stuff to nibble on between meals or what to eat for meals?

I'd be tempted to drive in the direction of Pal's and/or Culver's

Both. I eat plenty of fast food in my regular life so on road trips I like to search for those well rated local roadside attraction type eateries.

OMG. I would hate to take a road trip with any of you.

The powered cheesy, cool ranch, etc. chips and snack foods smell so bad in a small closed space, then there is the finger residue and people licking their fingers constantly or kids wiping them on clothes

Makes me nauseated.

No one invited you anyways.

Full rack of ribs, extra sauce

I have not had pringles in years, but I see the appeal on a road trip.
for me: peanut m&ms, combos - must be pretzel, honey wheat pretzels, and salt & vinegar chips

and some sort of fast food, preferably stuffed pretzel or chicken nuggets or chicken sandwich

The one time I got them they tasted horribly processed to me. Perhaps my palate is simply more refined? I also can’t drink Starbucks as it’s too burnt tasting.
