I’m not a huge fan of their baked good either and prefer it bake myself but there are a few exceptions— the multigrain bakery bread (can’t remember what they can it but it’s got a crunchy crust and comes in a bag of two) is really good, especially with Brie. At Easter, they have a butter coffee cake that is to die for. It is usually in with the food gift products but I “gift” it to myself. I think it’s made in Minnesota or something. And for big sheet cakes, the white cake with cheesecake mousse filling is about as good as it gets. With a better buttercream, you could pass that off as a wedding cake. The cheesecake mousse filling is really delicious and the white cake is pretty passable. Actually, speaking of cheesecake, the Costco cheesecake is pretty good. My kids like the big cookies. I don’t love them but if they are there I will eat the white chocolate macadamia ones. For treats, costcos best choices are the massive boxes of ferrer rocher, the chocolate covered almonds, or the chocolate covered caramel macademia nuts. Or the big container of frozen cream puffs that are imported from Italy. Those are really surprisingly good—have your ILs buy those instead. |
