Family favorites:
— cottage pie — about 17 bucks, 6-7 servings
— salmon — 4 servings, about 30 bucks
— chicken Alfredo, about 5 servings, about 18 bucks
—. Beef bulgogi, about four servings, about 20 bucks

All of these except for the beef need about about 30 mins or more in the oven.

Serve with some broccoli or bagged salad, with rice if needed

Kids eat lunch at school so it’s a pretty efficient and relatively affordable way of getting though the week.

Other Costco faves: the cream cheese tub. Milks. Eggs. Granola. Kind bars. Babibel cheeses. Detroit style pizzas

So except for the salmon, these are pre made costco meals? I am hoping not..

DP. Yes, they are pre-made and then you cook them. My family does the same on busy weeks. I looked at our calendar for the week on Sunday morning and went to Costco to stock up on their meals. They're a good price and tasty.

It's It ice cream bars. They had them a few years ago when I had COVID. It was the only thing that kept me going. If it wasn't for It's It, I may not be here now. Please bring them back.

That sounds like a lot of salt! I bought their chicken pot pie once and it was almost inedible salty.

Giant Cabot or Tillamook cheese

Kirkland pesto

Haagen Daz ice cream bars

Organic eggs

Paper goods

Maple syrup

Random toys, books, seasonal decor

Meat has always been good especially beef, but I’m leaning toward grass fed and finished so I don’t buy here.

Frozen items like wild salmon and butterfly shrimp.

Snapware and some kitchen items.

If you have allergies or take another daily med, generics are a good price. Same with baby formula.

My perpetual Costco list:

Wild salmon
Frozen shrimp
Flank steak
Organic ground beef
Chuck roasts
Rotisserie chicken
Shrimp cocktail for parties/holidays

Berries
Brussels sprouts
Grapefruits (winter)
Watermelon (summer)
Romaine hearts
Bell peppers

Pesto (Kirkland brand)
Rao's pasta sauce when it's on sale
Cheerios
Late July multigrain tortilla chips (not always in stock; the organic Kirkland restaurant-style ones are acceptable)
Heavenly Hunks chocolate chip oat cookies
Various granola bars when on sale

Paper towels
Paper napkins
Charcoal for grill (summer)
Parchment paper

Organic lemonade in summer
Colombian coffee beans for making cold brew

Maple syrup
Almond butter
Garlic powder
Oregano
King Arthur flour in 5 lb. bag for holiday baking

Fresh bread - both the French and multigrain loaves are good

DH likes the chicken taco kit and gets 2 lunches out of it. I don't really care for any of the other prepped meals. Never tried the giant pot pie but might for a crowd!

I no longer think the premade Costco food tastes good. We just got stuffed peppers and both my son and I couldnt eat them. Weird tasting. The chickens are slimy lately.
I hate cooking every night but eating out or premade meals are no longer helpful when they either 1) dont taste good or 2) cost too much. We've been restorting to eggs and toast versus eating out or even Costco meals.

Avoid most of their baked goods. They are all oversized, dry and flavorless. My in-laws have been staying with us, love Costco and feel the need to by us random baked goods. With the exception of the tuxedo cake, they all end up in the trash.

So far we have tossed- muffins- dry and tasteless, danish, Jessica's banana nut bread (has banana flavoring added which is nasty), apple and pumpkin pie- pumpkin was especially gross and I love pumpkin pie.

Have never tried any of the things you mention, but their ciabatta rolls are good and the baguettes are decent.

They are not “homemade” as you would make. They are mass produced/processed and have ingredients such as high fructose corn syrup, corn oil,
Carmel color, modified corn starch, preservatives, mono and diglycerides. I’m sure some of their prepared meals have cleaner ingredients than others - but pretty clear this is not equivalent of what you would make at home

Not pp but I live the big Parm wedges. I sometimes cut in half and freeze half.

Just Bare chicken nuggets - they do taste like chin FIL a
Frank gluten free bread which is actually pretty good
Bibigo frozen steamed dumplings
Bibigo rice that you microwave for 90 sec in the pantry aisle
Premium frozen stir fry vegetables
Rotisserie chicken
Tonkatsu ramen in the pantry aisle
Rice ramen

We really go for the less expensive coffee beans, paper and cleaning, milk, eggs, cheese, meat and wine.

For produce - only if you are planning on cooking and freezing dishes or feeding a large crowd. The only things that we can through in a week fresh are romaine lettuce, avocados, bananas and raspberries. The lemons do last in the fridge awhile.

I buy lemons there and have my kids juice and zest them, then freeze. I am grateful every time I’m cooking and it saves me a few steps!

excellent idea. I'm going to try this.

The last 2 times we got the rotisserie chicken breast packages in the prepared food aisle we couldn't eat it - rubbery/slimy. So disappointed bc I would freeze it in dinner portions and we use them for quesadillas and simmer sauces for quick dinners.
