Yup this. Although I like a few of the places the PP’s suggestions too (jeans & white button down & coded luxury bag, lol) |
Agree - def no sneakers. Boots or heels. |
| Schedule a styling consult with a stylist from Nordstrom. Tell her/him the occasion and they'll give you lots of options. |
| Ladies, OP has an hourglass figure and some extra pounds, she’s not wearing a button-down shirt. |
Wow, the 1980's Forenza sweater from the Limited making the rounds! |

I agree focus on hair and face. I love getting my hair blown out and I’d do that. You could get a facial the day before so your skin looks great. I think great skin and hair with mascara and chapstick is a great nice casual look.
What is your nicest/favorite purse? I’d wear jeans and pick a flattering top and boots to complement my best purse. Don’t buy something new for them unless it’s fun for you. I personally think jewel tones are super flattering so depending on your accessories a rich blue, purple or green simple top could look great. I look severe (not relaxed) in black or white but YMMV. |

People: nobody GAF what purse you are carrying.
If you like it, go for it, but otherwise it’s a waste of money. |
Vegan leather is not a thing. It's just pleather. Calling it vegan leather allows people to feel ethical, and the company to charge 30% more, but it is all marketing. |
Exactly what I was thinking! Great hair always wins. I’m more j crew/classic so I think that I’d do a long sleeve plain tee with a cashmere sweater over it, then jeans, and great shoes/bag. Maybe a wrap if cold. And a neutral manicure. I always feel more confident with a manicure. |
This might be true for you, but plenty of people do care and enjoy designer handbags. Easy way to show you are doing well. |
Good God, no. |
| Straight leg jeans, Chelsea boots, a lightweight v-neck sweater, and simple gold jewelry. Also, good hair and killer lipstick. |
+1 Plastic jeans. |
