I say this as someone who has absolutely no problem paying $$$$ for high quality fashion items, and purchases such items plenty, but I really do think JK is over-priced. |
NP and I agree…these nails always look tacky and gross to me. And I love fun colors, just think the French manicure in black/brown/etc look gross. |
| Relaxed fit (think 90s) distressed lighter shade jeans, a men’s style blouse, and an incredibly boxy fit blazer. Pair it with a Justin cowboy boots. Think Hailey Bieber. |
Red nails look gross and tacky?
Nothing could be more classic but okayyyyyyyy |
| Update OP? |
No, you're confused...the PP thought the black-tip manicures were tacky and gross, not the red nails. |
Lol this is an outfit that could be pulled off by like .0001% of women over the age of 35. And I say that as a woman over the age of 35. You have to be tall, thin, and incredibly beautiful for this to work (i.e. you have to be Hailey Bieber). |
I was thinking that too. Terrible recommendation. For a woman of OP's description, that is frump central (it would be for me as well) |
| OP - what did you end up wearing, and how was the evening? |
| I would wear skinny misrule slightly distressed black jeans, ankle boots or Chelsea boots (I also have grey suede boots with 3 inch block heel, mid calf), crocheted grey free people fuzzy cropped cardigan over with silky camisole or satiny shirt in a blush color. Rose lipstick, plain nails, mascara. Done. |
I’m seeing a very plain sweater. Not sure it has anything to it. Maybe I’m missing it! |
I wanna be your friend. Damn those 19 lbs |
Mid-40s here! I come across new mean girl moms all the time. Now that I have a middle schooler I tell her many women get stuck in this part of their social development. It's a time for growth and she need to grow through it. Don't go. There's literally nothing good that will come from it. Even if they are nice now and have grown up, it won't erase the hurt of the past, you'll just be reminded of how awkward it felt. |

You could always take elements of this look and incorporate it within your own style. |
