Ok. Burgers take under 20 min to make too. |
In my house, the reason to get burgers is to get fries. If I could feed my family only fries, I would, but that would get me called out by the mom police. |
No, this is the person who orders 1 slice of pizza for 4. An entire pizza would clearly be too much. |
Shake Shack fries are horrible. |
Is this the mom who couldn't figure out why her teenage boys were hungry all the time, and then told us that she gives them 4 chicken wings each for dinner? |
I'm not sure why you think I'm cheaping out on my family. I have two 10 year olds. Those burgers are large for them. Once they have/finish the burger, they only eat a handful of fries each. I order two sandwiches (a burger and a hot dog) and don't want a huge amount of fries either. We can share a large fries at McDonald's but the medium fries at Five Guys is larger (almost double when they fill the cup, then add an extra scoop of fries into the bag after the cup). The new small size is now about the size of a McDonald's large fries, which is why it works for us. |
Nope. But my kids eat their fill more on burgers and less on fries. I'm not sure why this seems to suggest to others that I restrict what they eat. I don't. |
| Ha! Went to 5 Guys for the first time in a year over the weekend. Same experience - ordered online and had to wait for the fries. And I also agree with earlier poster - fry orders at five guys are huge and certainly a small or medium is enough for the entire family. Plus although I love most fries I don’t love the ones from 5 guys. Not salty or crispy enough. |

Who gets takeout french fries, though? They're always soggy and gross when you get them home.

The 5 guys fries are a really good example of where shrinkflation makes sense. I’d rather they keep prices steady and make the servings much smaller.
Boxes of dried pasta, on the other hand, I’d rather they just raise the price. |
