Did anyone root for Brian Krakow in the My so-called life?

Speaking of Felicity, Brian Krakow date raped Julie in that show, so he's sorta ruined for me.

And he looked like a date rapist. His character on both shows was awful.

So disappointed when Angela scalps the tickets to Jordan. Makes HER look like the user in all of this. And why is she so obsessed with Jordan after he comes onto her so hard twice? I’m kind of over her staring and silence, she’s reminding me of Napoleon Dynamite.

um, because she is 15 and he is extremely attractive and mysterious and there is some glimmer of hope he has noticed her?

Don’t you just love how he leans?

Lol, yes, unironically.

(NP, I'd like to hear PP answer too )

I don't think Angela was positioned as "the gorgeous girl." She was pretty awkward and uncertain herself.

Exactly. She was positioned as the nerdy alternative girl who dwells on her own thoughts 24/7. She is pretty but not sexy and not interested in sex. Jordan sees her as someone who complicates stuff; he doesn't want his friends to know they are dating and calls her "abnormal" when they break up.

Well she was gorgeous to the unattractive nerd.

Nah. Sharon is just angry and jealous. I think Rayanne is intrigued by Angela, who is pretty and kind but also cool and inscrutable. I think Angela is attracted to Rayanne because of her energy and unconventionality, but also, because she hangs out close to Jordan Catalano.

Slightly OT but I always felt Rayanne was the prototype for Jessa on Girls - at first the viewer can’t help but see them as carefree, unconventional and effortlessly cool, but by the end you realize how pitiful the character is. And they both screwed their best friend’s ex, ruining the friendship.

what unattractive nerd? brian is average looking, or even above average.

in fact, part of what makes this series real is that actors are regular looking, except for jordan. and the series doesn't pretend that jordan is average looking but kind of marvels at his good looks. 90210 or gossip girl seem more like your thing.

Brian was a creepy stalker type. I rewatched the series, and it was abundantly clear that he was awful.

The series creator said that, in the second season, Angela would be “destroyed” (actual quote) over the fact that Brian was dating Delia. So, no, he was not a creepy stalker, and the series clearly builds towards his relationship with Angela.

In the video I posted a page ago, the actor who plays Graham talks about how Brian is both adorable and creepy. And he uses the word stalker. So it’s a pretty common impression that character leaves.

I’ll give you average, but Brian was never above average in the looks department. The hair, the clothes…no. It could’ve been such a great tv moment if Ricky and Rayanne gave him a makeover.

he says he, AS A FATHER, vacillates between impression that Brian is an innocent (safe) puppy, and a dangerous stalker. AS A FATHER. who worries about stuff. what you think the father thought about Jordan calatalano?

luckily, Angela/Winnie Holzman are not as superficial as you are. Again,

"[Delia] and Brian would have been boyfriend and girlfriend, and he would have told everything about it to Angela. He would have used Angela to help him through that relationship, for advice and stuff. And it would begin to sort of destroy her.

Because she would have been with Jordan?
She would be in a relationship with Jordan, Brian would be in a relationship with Delia, and they would be longing for each other, basically."
