Otto Warmbier did, and he committed a worse crime. And she's actually an A list basketball player.

Otto didn’t get a prisoner exchange deal genius and he was only released because he was dying. And nobody cares about the WNBA.

Warmbier did not commit "a worse crime." He did something stupid, which was to go to North Korea in the first place. Who did the US exchange for the release of Otto Warmbier?

Yes, and frankly, if Whelan wasn't there I'm not sure the US would be making any deal. She's a convenient negotiating chip.

Why do we care about bringing back Whelan?

He committed theft. Griner had some CBD oil.

DP. Do you try to steal a poster. A big crime in North Korea and he shouldn't have but also not humane to sentence him to 15 years

The Obama administration worked hard to have him released, but since he was already basically dead in a coma right after sentencing, North Korea waited until their good friend, Trump was in office to let him go because they knew there'd be no real consequences

So they say. I'm sure NK is nothing but honest.

Great. So let's "negotiate" with Russia like we did with NK. No prisoner exchange.

Reposting. We DID negotiate. We sent several people over several times for months.

^Also, Otto tried to drunkenly steal a poster. Should he have been on that school trip...no. But there is zero point in comparing BG's crime with OW's. They are both negligible.

I think they lied about the whole thing.
I’m good with the deal.

Great - the arms dealer will be your new neighbor. Best of luck.

I don't understand your aversion to arms dealers. This area is positively flooded with staffers of such gems as Raytheon, Northrop Grumman etc. who are all merchants of death on your tax dollar, I might add. And considering that America has a great track record in flooding other countries with arms without the first idea of where they are going, you should be positively comfortable with selling and trading arms. Why can't Victor?

No I "do not try to steal a poster." I'm not even sure why you are asking me if I steal posters, but I don't.
We obviously didn't "negotiate" as hard as we have for Britney Grimer--as she's only been over there a few months and Otto was in NK for years.

You have no idea what you are talking about. The trip to North Korea was not a "school trip." I do not believe he stole the poster. The video does not show a person clearly enough, and the "motive" was ridiculous.

I mean trip before school. Sorry. At any rate, no need to be nasty with "I have no idea what I am talking about. And I do believe I was defending Otto and saying even if he did do it, his crime was negligible. He was on a guided tour so he probably felt safe and there was alcohol that night. Not sure why you got so aggressive....

OMG, you are the biggest idiot or just a plain lying, dissembling troll attempting to boost Dems. Warmbier wasn’t even sentenced by the North Koreans until March 2016, when Obama was long gone. He was arrested in January 2016, after Trump had already been elected.
