There is a Greek place in Falls Church. Aphrodite I think.
I would love a gyro bite. Pita triangle, smear of tzatziki, diced onion/tomato, little chunk of gyro meat, sprinkle feta on top. All on a toothpick. Alton brown has a good recipe for the gyro meat. |
| I thought stuffed grape leaves were greek? Maybe we can agree stuffed grape leaves are honorary greek, like how we all enjoy a good chimichanga at a mexican restaurant even though you’d never find it on a traditional menu in Mexico. |
I love Greek food but that is a hard NO from me. It tastes like what cat food smells like. |
The food was mentioned in Ancient Greek like 2000 years ago: thrion. This was a fig leaf stuffed with sweet cheese. The word used now dolma or dolmades is from Turkish I think. But the original food was from 🇬🇷 🇬🇷 🇬🇷 Greece |
mmmmm, Nostos. yum |
Doesn't make hummus Greek tho no matter how good the place is |
