What data does he cite on this? |
You don't cite data when you argue a problem is everyone else's fault but your own. |
I mean, close combat skills have improved! |
Wow! After years of the school board being timid in their mild criticism of Hutchings (anyone else remember Rami Gentry's shaking voice when she criticized him that ONE time during the shut down?) there is ONE SB member who is willing to push back.
https://www.alxnow.com/2022/06/01/superintendent-tells-school-board-to-not-talk-to-media-about-fatal-stabbing-of-student/ Go Abdel Elnoubi! Wish I was in your district and could vote for someone with a spine but I'm in district B: “My position hasn’t changed on this,” Elnoubi told ALXnow. “I understand that Dr. Hutchings may be worried if we say something, it may be attributed to the division. We don’t work for the division though, we oversee it and we work for the people of Alexandria, we represent The people. As elected officials, we are free to choose how, where and what to communicate with the community, which gets to hold us accountable. In times like these, the community needs to hear from its leaders and policymakers.” |
WELL SAID! Wish I could vote for him, too. |

When I made the best decision for my young daughter's education, I was totally worried about how that would affect the class and race divide. /s ![]() |
Hutchings is a fraud. If he cared about closing the racial learning gaps, he could be pushing for creative solutions to do so. Instead he's writing a book. |
All true. People who buy his book (and his consulting services) are going to get suckered (and a bunch of word salad). He hasn't done any of the things he prescribes in his book. I would just like one School Board member to question this book, it's timing, and what ACPS and taxpayer resources may have been used. One. Maybe this Elnoubi guy will be brave enough to ask. It seems he's the only one with any guts. |
Don’t forget the podcast … “Unapologetic Talk With the Supe.” No, I’m not making that up. |
Which ACPS promoted on its social media feeds |
The promotion of it is the least of it. Podcasts take equipment and time. Time to prepare for it, time to read your guest's work, time to prepare questions, time to schedule the guests, time to record (an hour long podcast can come from hours of conversation) and time to edit it. Likely there is more behind the scenes that takes up additional time. Who is doing all of this for him? How much time is this taking away from what should be his actual work? How much time is taken from what staff should actually be doing? This is naked self promotion. Is there a way to find out how many people listen/download to a podcast? I haven't listened to Hutchings' but maybe I will. Just like his book, it should be reviewed and rated by the people who are living with the results of his work. |
I think when he was elected Prom King at then TC Williams, he misunderstood what it meant.
He isn't actually a King and he's not entitled to enrich himself at the expense of the people. Next thing you know he'll be throwing himself a jubilee. |

ACPS has 7 followers on soundcloud. The majority of which appear to be spam accounts. The most recent podcast has 41 views. So time and ACPS resources are being poured into this for very little return. But sure...the learning gap is on parents. |
