I need a direct answer to my 3 questions: do we now have multiple rapists (I believe the girl) roving the school doing whatever they want and believing that they got away with it? what is keeping them from doing it again? how do I keep my daughter safe? |
Were each of the multiple assumes tried and acquitted? There is still so much information missing here. |

National Review did a follow-up article.

Way to go Inez Stepman. Keep up the pressure! You're getting more response than parents are. |
FCPS does this, as a matter of course. Anything to protect the trouble makers, who of course, have trouble maker parents, as suspected. |
The AlexNow article mentioned that the alleged aggressor was immediately removed from the school and placed into virtual learning. Not sure what, if anything, was done to discipline or remove from the school those who allegedly aided or abetted the aggressor. Not sure what happens now that the alleged agressor was “acquitted” in the sense that there was a not guilty verdict or is it a loose definition and is akin to the state not pursuing prosecution. Was he placed back into in-person learning on the MH campus? If this happened, the victim should sue the district for intentional infliction of emotional distress and seek to be compensated with money damages and obtain an equitable remedy of being transferred (with full transportation costs) to a local private school. |
Ugh. Not a fan of NR but the author well explains how extremely problematic this is, including the way the city is trying to hide behind "privacy" to escape criticism for witholding information. They never release names or identifying information when they send information about other incidents that relate to safety and well-being--why couldn't they follow a similar model here? |
I see this as an Independent Woman's Forum / Koch family foundations hit job but....if you want to know what incidents occur at a school, you can read the public reporting of incident reports: https://communitycrimemap.com/ You are welcome. P.S. if you are actually caring more about the wellbeing of children and less about trying to defame the institution of public schools, there are so many children who have to start their day under tremendous adversity, just like this 14 year old child. Hunger. Neglect. Sexual assault by adults. Homelessness. Hope you are saving some of your breath to advocate for more funding for health and human service interventions for all the students who routinely face horrible situations. Hope you aren't just stirring sh*t but actually trying to improve student well being. |
Do you not think it is a legitimate question of what has been done since the offense to ensure this never happens again? Would you want the offender in school with your children? A school environment where a rape can occur during a school day will always be an obstacle to "equity for all." No matter the source of this information, this happened, the school district said nothing, and there is no transparency on what has been done to prevent it from ever happening again. |
Is Wilson actually sweeping the gang rape of a 14 year old girl under the rug? Repulsive. He needs to be called out in public everywhere. |
***In many Northern Virginia schools, even a single reported positive Covid test necessitates an email to the school community. And yet a case that resulted in an arrest for three felonies, including rape, somehow did not meet the threshold for informing parents.*** Yep |
NP here. Responses and attitudes like this really are totally counterproductive and rude. Let me guess, you have an "all are welcome here" in front of your $1,000,000+ home in Del Ray. People can complain as well as contribute to problems on a micro and macro level. It is not for you to decide who is helping enough or who has a legitimate enough concern. Check yourself. |
And this is exactly the attitude that is pissing me off about Democrats lately. Conservative news reports a rape, and if you're a good democrat you should say it's no big deal. Same attitude over opening schools, with the narrative that if you wanted schools to open you were a Trumper that hated teachers. Rape is horrible, and I don't care who reported it. Nobody seems to be denying that it happened, just that they don't particularly don't like the messenger. And because, and only because, of the messenger "good Democrats" should just move along. |
. Actually, we don’t know if it was an acquittal. That word isn’t defined in the juvenile justice code. There is a higher chance that the case was dismissed, which aint the same thing. |
