Teach Me Teen Lingo

You just woke from the coma you entered in 1964?

This has been a saying for ages...I thought everyone knew that!

It's been awhile since I read a thread that was so inane and clueless. People who think they know what they're talking about bringing up ancient expressions such as "blow me" and "roll a joint" as if they are new???

I mean....I'm in my 60s and this thread is just ridiculous! "Teach Me Teen Lingo" ??????

I think most of those contributors are just pretending to be clueless

I think the “roll a joint” poster was just being funny…

Good god I can’t believe I’m lumped in age-wise with the posters on this thread.

No one has mentioned “thirsty” as in horny
Or “snack” as in sexy - “he is looking like a snack”
Or “Thicc” for fat, but it a good way
Or “sheeeesh” which is just an exuberant noise that doesn’t really mean anything
Or that arm motion where you hold one arm straight palm out and then point to the inside of the elbow with two fingers on the other hand. I thought it was drug related - but it just means “ice in my veins” or like damn that’s cold

I thought this was a funny post. We said that back when I was in high school and I’m in my mid 40s.

I'm quite certain that's what my parents said in the 1960s and they're 75.

Provocative selfies are known as "thirst traps."

When I haven’t seen listed here is the word Fit. Which is basically short for outfit. You can look at someone and say that’s a nice fit or hey how do you like my fit?

If you want to know how teens speak watch the show euphoria. It’s really eye-opening as in “oh my God kids watch the stuff”? But it’s extremely popular with teenagers

I read my tween’s texts occasionally and one of his friends sent him a screenshot between the friend and a girl, where the girl was saying she was turning basic because she liked my son and all the musty girls like him. I don’t think that’s a compliment, though she also said he was popular and always had been.
