My kids say, “haven’t seen you in a brick!” (meaning in a long time). That’s fire means that’s hot. What are some words/phrases your teen uses? Sometimes I feel like they are speaking code. What’s the equivalent of “that’s cool” or “hip”?

Brick means cold in nyc “Yo it’s mad Brick out son” Dmv is full of bammas that don’t even know how to flip the lingo right. |

Sus is suspicioius or suspect or generally not good
TLDR for “to summarize” I’ve heard fire but not brick There was another one they were saying the other day but now I’ve forgotten it—it will come to me. |
| My DD is always talking about people doing things “for clout” which I think means attention-seeking and commenting on her “aesthetic” which seems to mean “style.” |
| Just curious how you all were when you had kids? You obviously use the internet so you could learn these same slang words and try to stay “hip”. Not trying to be rude but seriously some of this stuff is so basic. |

| My teen uses aesthetic wrong. I don’t think they know what that word means… |
| I'm gonna dip = I'm leaving early. |
\ This isn't new |
| “That’s fire” is not new. |

My kids say “basic” (meaning…basic) and “extra”, being extra seems to mean like over the top or unnecessary. “That dress is so extra” (when they thing it is ‘too much’).
I don’t know what the equivalent of cool is. I’m trying to think. Oh they also say “flex.” Meaning you talk up your own accomplishments. |
This did make me laugh. I first heard ship used this way in Buffy the Vampire Slayer fandom. That ain’t recent. |

| I heard my kid saying someone looked “musty” the other day and O didn’t even dare ask, because no way can that be a good thing |
