I think it might be something of selection bias. If you meet very young, you are more likely to contribute than if you think I'm just like everyone else.

Lots of us didn’t move here until after we were already married. We met at 19 and married at 22. Moved to DC at 25.

I was 27 and DH was 30. We started dating about a year later. Married when I was 34.

Married 1 year later

Baby 1 year after that.

Currently at year 5 and couldn't be happier.

Met- me Just turned 26. He was 24.5.

Engaged 27.5/26.2

Married 28.5/27.2

Kids: 35/38; 34/36

Now: me 52 in 2 weeks; him 50.4.

Kids now 16 and 14.

I got knocked up first try with both. We purposely waited to start a family to just have fun/travel/party.

^I’m a DC native and husband had already moved her post-college. Most of my friends were married by 30 and had kids early-mid/late 30s.

I’m the PP who married at 25. Born and raised in the DMV. And no I’m not a SAHM. Went to a T14 and practice in Big Law.
