What’s the impact? Everyone that wants to has had a chance to be vaccinated. Anyone exposed to covid, masked or unmasked, does not have to stay home at all if they are vaccinated. He is constantly emailing about the high vaccination rates. Now we are worried about unvaccinated children needing to quarantine if they are close contacts? That’s also a choice. Get vaccinated or run the risk of being a close contact.

This is incredibly reasonable. Totally agree.

In terms of quarantining, this only kicks in for the unvaccinated. Vaxxed kids don’t quarantine. And now we have test to stay. So it’s not a big deal. Also fchd is no longer contact tracing so this is all school imposed. They could (and should) jettison any contact tracing and just go with normal ‘stay home if you are sick’ rules.

I don't think this is a R or L issue,so therefore the above question is moot, everyone wants their kids to eventually be living in a maskless world and school, the timing we may disagree on and thats fine.

I think the infographic and whoever came up with it in fccps--be it Noonan or someone else, was really inhumane: to show a kid being separated from others, ostracized and isolated, i do not think anyone be it L or R voting is OK with it, and whoever is has really to be soulless. I am glad the principals from (I think?) all the FCCPS schools rescinded the infographic and changed course.

So when people ask why is Noonan not liked by some, given that he leads the school, I have to assume either he made up the infographic or at least approved it, so therefore some parents are really scared of what else can come out in a future Friday roots/resilience/renewal email.

Again, no one is able to actually identify an anti-vax tweet. So it’s hard to explain why a Twitter account is doing something that it is actually not doing.

Something is not OK when I have anxiety every Friday thinking what kind of insanity I will be reading in the RRR letter. I think the vast majority of FCC, even though it may swing one way politically , would agree that ALL kids should feel OK and safe in school and not be judged for whatever covid position they or their family took/is taking. I think that is the bottom line of angst in some : as posted in a previous post on this thread, i really am getting the vibe from the decision makers that unmasked and or unvaxxed kids should be shunned (example-sitting 6 feet away and many others)-and its coming from the top of FCC, and that is not OK, and whoever thinks it is OK really has to look deep into their heart.

The reality is that they are moving everyone further apart - not just unvaccinated/unmasked kids so no one feels ostracized.

I know this does not fit into the anti-Noonan narrative, so it is not popular to discuss, but that is the fact and not the Astroturf lies.

Seriously? You're having anxiety anticipating an email that outlines how many Covid cases we've had in the schools each Friday? You need to chill out and hope you're not passing on this massive anxiety to your poor kids.

I don't think school leadership thinks the unmasked/unvaccinated kids should be shunned. I do think they're hearing from a number of staff/teachers that they're pretty uncomfortable being in a classroom of 25 unmasked kids - particularly if many of them are not vaccinated - for hours at a time. I think they ARE trying to persuade people to get vaccinated and to keep the masks on a little longer due to this concern. More sick teachers + teacher resignations is a problem for everyone.

FCC was not like this just 10-15 years ago, there are still good people, they are just not vocal, all in all the school is academically strong and prepares kids well for college, I applaud the people willing to put their necks out there and go against the current fcc dogma, and Im not talking about just the masks and covid, its beyond that, so know you are not alone.

There are about 300 people in the group. I can recognize most as FCC residents. There are about 10 really active people and another 20 somewhat active people. The rest are mostly silent—can’t tell if they support, are just there for the info, or are just keeping tabs on the group’s activities. Either way, nobody was excluded, and they are getting the info. Hardly an “astroturf” group.
