Would you be suspicious if a rich neighbor started driving a Chevy pickup truck?

OP you and your wife stalked his facebook. Tell us more about that.

+1. I’ll bet your neighbor always wanted one but worried about what people around him might think. You get to a certain age after two years of surviving a pandemic, and you realize it doesn’t matter what they think.

Those trucks when fully loaded cost $70K-80K. They are the Rich Guy Hobby Mobile.

It's working class cosplay for these dudes.

+1

And bonus points for “working class cosplay” excellent phrase.

OP, you get A+ for trolling. This is how it's done, with class.

Op will have the last laugh when we see the news about some white chevy truck driven off a cliff in some kind of "accident".

This thread is hilarious. Can’t believe OP has the time and interest to think this and post it.

A few explanations - a truck is his mid life crisis car but since he isn’t sure he will like it, didn’t want to go too high end.

He moved it from his ranch/mountain house. You don’t want a fancy vehicle there or you stick out like a jerk

It was/is a kid’s car but husband likes driving it

Or they are struggling financially and you picked up on the first sign. Just kidding. Highly unlikely they would save money this way. You don’t get much for a trade in. Trucks are still expensive and gas guzzlers.

Hard to understand what is meant by a “carefree office job” but I’d venture a guess that it’s a company-owned vehicle. Many corporate or government fleet vehicles are white base models.

Yes. You’d think he’d get a Gladiator.

Yes… I would contact the FBI, CIA, Secret Service, State and Local Police, School Resource Police, Crossing Guards and School Hall Monitors.

Be on the lookout for a man, driving a white Chevrolet truck.

I'd be more suspicious of a white van.

I agree that OP is a busybody and crazy.

But, I'll feed the troll here. My guess is that they bought a second home somewhere that is either in the mountains, on a lake, or somewhere remote and the pickup is both a lot more common and more serviceable for where the second home is. Like other suggested, maybe he got a boat or something else that needs hauling, especially for a second home where it might be in storage nearby, so they have to go, pick up the boat, then go to the vacation home to put.

Maybe he needs a truck to haul stuff around in. My in-laws just bought a cheap pickup to haul around their $100K RV. Should I be suspicious?

Like Dunder Mifflin, but they sell hygiene products?

Nonprofit or "managing" family trust.
