Most likely WJ students would go to Woodward. I understand that some Einstein neighborhoods want to go to Woodward too but I guess that depends on the politics. Kensington doesn’t have the same clout that it used to.

That is the reason Woodward is being reopened, to relieve overcrowding at WJ and the DCC schools, mainly Einstein and Wheaton. It's not about any neighborhood "wanting to go to Woodward."

First and foremost, Woodward is being built to reduce ridiculous levels of overcrowding at WJ that will take it to nearly 3700 students in just a few years. But if that was the only issue, MCPS would not be building Woodward. However, there is a need to also accommodate additional students that would be generated from the massive amount of approved development along the 355 corridor. If they have any seats left after that, may be they will give them to DCC on a special basis. But I doubt it. Your weird belief that it’s somehow about BCC is very strange. It’s about what is being planned near the Strathmore and White Flint metros and everything in between. 5,000 housing units have been approved at just the White Flint Mall site and Strathmore Metro stations combined. You have a weird fixation that is going to get sorely disappointed in the end.

Where are you getting that number? MCPS projects WJ enrollment to be ~2900, about 600 students overcapacity by the time Woodward opens. Woodward's capacity will be 2159 students.

Are you the DCC poster? Odd to not know such details. Projected WJ capacity absent Woodward to be 3500.

Charles W. Woodward High School
Capital Project: To address the urgent space needs at Walter Johnson High School and the Downcounty Consortium high schools, an FY 2021 appropriation for construction was approved to reopen the school. The Board of Education approved that Charles W. Woodward High School be used as a holding school, starting in August 2023. for Northwood High School for two years. Northwood High School will return to its facility in August 2025. An FY 2023 appropriation is recommended for construction cost increases and the balance of construction funds. The scheduled completion date for the reopening of Charles W. Woodward High School is August 2025.

+! that commute to Tysons can be very grueling. commutes are unpredictable: accidents are frequent and can set you back over an hour. unless you also need to be in Maryland a lot, i'd definitely lean towards FCPS. maybe a townhouse or condo?

Look in the Twinbrook cluster in Rockville 20851. You can get a small house for under $500K walkable to Metro and tons of other amenities. Not terrible for commute, either. Twinbrook ES doesn’t get much love here but your kids are past it and Julius West MS and Richard Montgomery HS are well-regarded.
