Same. Midwest and zero grocery store issues

Also in the Midwest, and shelves are bare, and have been for weeks. Every time I shop, there's something major I can't get, like milk or bread. YMMV.

Really? I haven't noticed any shortage at all. I mean, sometimes the blueberries are in small containers and I want the big ones...but that is the extent of the shortage I see. I have never not been able to get something I usually do

No chicken

Literally none. Not even bone in skin on parts. The poultry cooler section was just empty.

I know it's just a combination of things but it does make you wonder how bad things could go very quickly.

The North Bethesda HT was depleted of almost everything except chicken breast on Friday. I did get 2 large bags of chicken leg quarters for a great price. The rest of fevers meat case was well stocked.

Our shelves are fully stocked. No shortages at all in Florida.

I was at Moms at 9pm last night, fully stocked except for the ravioli brand I wanted. I mean maybe they were out of avocados but it’s Jan for heavens sake.

It's hit or miss. We shop in upper NW and close in Silver Spring and the Giant/Safeway stock can be low, Whole Foods is generally OK but hit or miss with some things, and the mini Target on GA had just about everything but milk the other day -- great blueberries for $2.49! My husband went to the Blair Giant yesterday and said it freaked him out.

NP. I know this sounds nuts, but…is it possible that you’re in different areas of the Midwest, and that some places are experiencing shortages while others are not?

Do you think it is actual shortages or people hoarding?

I live in the DC metro, have been doing my usual weekly shop at one store, and it's mostly been fine. The worst was after the snow last week, but this weekend everything was stocked again.

People are crazy here when it snows because sometimes the forecast increases rapidly at the last minute, like it did last week. Eventually you learn to have some nonperishables on hand so you can make it through a week or two of limited food in the winter.

It’s supply chain disruption and covid-related worker shortages.

If in year 3 of a pandemic, you haven’t figured out how to shop in advance and keep staples on hand, well, you are beyond help.

Lemons and lactose free milk were out in my area this week. They had bagged onions at the Safeway on Arlington Rd, tho!

Funny Lactose free milk the only milk they had at my Giant (Rockville).
