Oh my god. Start labeling these threads - “ This week’s freak out over something that won’t happen 😱”
No one is taking away your masks. You and your children may continue wearing them. Last week it was “ There will be no teachers! Students will infect and wipe out the entire school by Tuesday!” |
The issue is ensuring YOU and YOUR children continue wearing them. I already know mine will be. |
Exactly. |
look all it takes is a few people to really increase the spread. Youngkin is fully supporting the nut jobs. |
Are they trying to close schools? Part of the plot to push vouchers? |
I thought was he is mandating no mask wearing and the schools must remain open no matter what? I wonder if he will send the police out if your kid is not in school or to force teachers and staff to work? |
|
He can't. A ton of teachers have almost unlimited leave, and many of them can afford to quit or retire. Also, subs (like me) will just refuse to work. Its just not worth it. The schools will collapse. (just fixing the quotes.) |
Kids will stage walkouts and protests.
|
This. Youngkin lifting a statewide mask mandate does not mean northern Virginia school systems will lift their mask mandate. Younkin isn’t going to ban them. |
If required, yes. I am a rule follower. If not required, then no. Call me crazy, but I don’t believe that my 5 year-old needs to be masked up for 7 hours, like a doctor performing open heart surgery, to avoid the flu. Yes, omicron is the equivalent of the flu. |
This is the person he is supporting. This type will spread covid to other unvaccinated child. |
How will schools that keep mask mandates in place handle students who opt out with the backing of Youngkin and the VA government?
Youngkin said: “School districts will be able to keep mask recommendations in place, but parents can choose not to follow them… The way that Virginia works is that the governor cannot ban mask mandates. Schools make those decisions,” he said. “We will in fact, then, also make sure that schools allow parents to exercise their rights for what’s best for their children, to opt-out of those mandates." |
Some of the schools have been relying on the state mandate and will need to enact their own once the state one is rescinded. |
