How does chlorine on the water kill covid in the air? Not trying to challenge you, just genuinely want to learn. I'm a lawyer w/o any science background beyond 8th grade

That is very clear.

Ha and you haven’t gone back? Your kids must hate you

They don’t miss the dumb swim lessons at all, and neither does my wallet. My kids were already at swim force level when the pandemic began. We did the outdoor pool all summer daily, the Water Mine, and even the water park at an amusement park. All outdoors. My kids are happy and healthy and don’t hate me. And more importantly, we never have to worry about covid at indoor swimming lessons.

Swim force? Unless you swam competitive and your kid swims competitively you have no idea of an actual swimmer. A lot of parents think their kids are great swimmers and then I watch them and yeah no they aren't - I say this as someone who has taught swimming for 20 years.

I’m not shocked. People are idiots.

Well, this idiot has had her kids in swimming lessons since last June, and still going. I'm high risk, but vaxxed and boosted. Kids vaxxed recently when 5-11s became eligible, but they were swimming for 6 months before fully vaxxed. None of us have gotten sick.

The same medical condition that makes me high-risk for COVID also prevents me from saving my kids if they fall into the deep end of the pool. So they are going to have to learn to be safe in the water. There are other things to worry about in the world besides COVID. Really, they are exposed to fewer people at swimming lessons than during lunch at school.

I’m pretty sure my 5yo (fully vaxxed) picked up Omicron at swim lessons in mid December. But hard to know for sure.
